Re: Around the NFL week 13
Wentz was benched today. Wentz is the definition of a falling star. He literally sucks now. Bottom 5 starter in the NFL for huge money. Eagles are fucked!

The Eagles will draft 5th. Dallas and Cincinnati already have their QB. They will be able to pick up a new cheap QB to offset Wentz contract.

Re: Around the NFL week 13
I get where you're coming from, but that player would need to play like something close to a 25 million per year player, or Wentz is still a huge drag on their salary cap. He's like an even worse Landon Collins contract. Yeah, Curl has been great for a rookie, but Collins is still dragging us down for at least 2 more years. Teams need to maximize every dollar. Let alone 20+ million dollars.

His performance could drop off these last few weeks, but I think they need to keep him on the field so he can (hopefully) keep improving.

Re: Around the NFL week 13
We will see if Collins will start. I mean he is out for the season right? We are a long ways away from determining who's going to start at safety next year.

Collins should be done here IMO. He has showed absolutely nothing and it's sunken costs, When you make a bad move you move on from it.

Re: Around the NFL week 13
Wtf are the Eagles thinking today? Wentz has fallen off a cliff and they just paid him a ton of money. You have to try and get him right but he is playing like absolute garbage.

Watch Wentz end up back with Reich in Indy and revive his career.

Re: Around the NFL week 13
What I’m most impressed by is how much of a mess Doug Peterson and Howie Roseman have made of that championship team in a short amount of time.
Meanwhile, Schwartz has done a great job maintaining an defense which is largely undermanned at LB and secondary. If Wentz would become available, I would certainly hope we would take a chance.

Re: Around the NFL week 13
He has been almost a non factor this whole season. He didn't even start games the beginning of the year. Smartest thing Cleveland did instill a culture of acceptable behavior. They are a good team.

Re: Around the NFL week 13
Trade Landon Collins for Carson Wentz.
Then use Wentz in a package to get the #1 pick for Lawrence.

Re: Around the NFL week 13
This. I don't see Wentz getting traded. If Hurts out trains/plays him between now and spring they are more likely to bite the bullet of cutting him as I can't see who'd trade for him with that contract. Can't help wondering if the injury is a factor in his play since...
Collins is the same problem; barring somebody agreeing an idiotic trade, we're probably going to have to swallow that cap loss. |

Re: Around the NFL week 13
I think they need to trade him while they can salvage some value, and before they actually pull the plug on him and bench him. I think they have to suffer out the year with him so they don't tank his trade value by already giving up on him, like Trubisky in Chicago.
If they bench him now, he might go from a 3-4th round compensation to 6-7th, or nothing.
