No doubt, historical significance is great but there will be redass jokes aplenty. As if this franchise isn't a joke anyway sooo there's that...

My guess is RedTails or RedHawks, rather have the Hawks instead of tails.

Same and honestly once the fans start getting into it, it could lead to some fun traditions.

Better yet we could just throw pretend poo at the team, they've been doing it to us for years!

Over?? Hardly. People maybe even the majority will still call them the Redskins and wear Redskins gear. Reportedly custom Redskin gear outsold WFT gear which has to be a bit concerning to the NFL contracted vendors. Maybe this will change with a more permanent name but probably not anytime soon.

Another take on the stars, they could actually be a reference to the 3 Superbowls. Similar to what national soccer teams with world cups.

or the flag of DC, or both!

You maybe right, i went back and watched it closer, the STARS are inside the jersey around the back collar, you can see the Nike tag a bit and all the stitching is for badges outside of the jersey.

That might suggest that we aren’t capable of winning another unless they’re going to add stars in the future. Of course, no risk of that anytime soon, it seems.

I was going to type that I already hate the name - operating on the assumption that we will screw this up. I really hope I’m wrong about that.

It will be something nice and inoffensive.

Washington Miniature Schnautzers sounds nice to me.

yeah true, the safer choice is probably the DC flag

Keep it Washington Football Team. This is a disaster why would they make wolves an option if they could not get it. The most poplar option was voted on and won. Now they can't even use it because of copy rite. They never should have made it an option .

Re: Name Reveal 2.2.22

Whatever they decide to call themselves it won’t matter due to utterly shitty team ownership etc. Until the head of this snake is dismembered they can choose any name they want as the “product” will still suck. Guess I’ll just live in the past glory days when the Redskins were competitive, exciting, fun, and respected. New name will not improve anything about this team.
