Re: Do you trust Gibbs?
Gibbs still hasn't given me adamant proof to not trust his judgement and no matter what, with what he has done for our franchise, I definitely will not ever trash and disrespect the man like a couple others both here and in the press seem to be doing.

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?
I don't know what everyone is soiling themselves over. Do I trust Gibbs or don't I??? This is bull shit, coaches bench people every year, changes are made Gibbs has bitch slapped other guys right off the team unpopularly in the past. Coaches take players who are for the most part equal and dump one guy and keep another. I mean Ramsey was at best, not adequate on this team, we were all holding out for him to start using both his visual cortex and his motor functioning center in his brain at the same time.
I like Ramsey but do I not trust the guy who coaches our team for telling him he can't chronically turn the ball over. I mean he obviously sees something in our terd, retiree, rubber armed, jack off that he likes more than our bazooka armed, wet dream. If Joe "3 super bowl champ wins" Gibbs who won three super bowls with qb's who had transient success in the NFL can't muster the faith to play Ramsey. Who should I be suspect of the Hall of Fame coach who has done nothing but win and succeed at everything he's done since being an assistant coach or the QB who has proven nothing, absolutely nothing in his career. ???

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?
There can be only one point of view here and it's non-negotionable. There is no way I will ever mistrust or doubt the best coach the Redskins have ever had, and a coach that has without a doubt forgotten more football than most of us will ever know. It seems so ironic as I look back to most of the posts on this forum just as little as eighteen months ago when JG made the decesion to return and coach the Redskins and see how different they looked then as opposed to now.
So often we speak of how we are blasted and criticized by the media and then I look to how critical and abrasive we can be towards our own and I can say no wonder. Eighteen months ago there was not a crumb of negative relative to the second coming of coach Gibbs. Everything was positive and everyone was convinced we were well on our way to stardome once again. I have been around long enough to know "Rome was not built in a day" and as great a coach as Gibbs is I also knew it was going to take a little time to right the ship. Granted he "may" have made a couple unpopular decisions that some of us may not have agreed with, but he made them and stuck by them. I say "may" because the jury is still out on Brunell, but I feel a few more games will shed a clearer picture of where we will go with him. I'm convinced that all this negative talk about Gibbs is completely unjustifiable, espically all the negatives in reference to his latest decision. When it comes to certain players on our team and (espically the favorite ones) we sometimes seem like Patriots saddled with an undying faith and belief we don't even understand the meaning of ourselves. When they are met with tough decesions that are not favorable to us we are bound to have differences in opinions, but I don't think we should allow those differences to destroy the love and faith we all should have for the greatest coach the Redskins organization has ever had. |

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?
from the washington post:
"Brunell said yesterday that the injury was not a factor to his play last season, and that he didn't undergo any rehabilitation. Brunell, who turns 35 on Saturday, dismissed the notion that his arm is stronger than last year." Gibbs wasn't truthful about giving Ramsey 'every opportunity' and isn't being truthful about Brunell's 'injury'. i think the poll should be changed to do you have FAITH in Gibbs, because TRUSTING him these days should be hard for anyone. |

I am just so disgusted that the Skins are, once again, embroiled in controversy and so early in the season. It was, IMO, totally unnecessary and it was Gibbs' botched handling of the QBs that has brought this all on. Can't be good for the team to have this major distraction right before Dallas. |

Brunell doesn't want to make excuses for his poor play last year and frankly who wants to hear it. The proof is on the field. Brunell's passes have more zip & he's a heck of a lot more accurate. Something is different, whether he admits it or not it's obvious something changed from last year. |

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?
I have been thinking about this again, yet another night....there really isn't a QB controversy. Gibbs made a change and that's it. Its US and the media that think its a controversy. I have not heard anyone from within the organization that has said anything about this move. Usually when there is turmoil, you start to hear reports from "anonymous" players voicing there is a problem. This HAS NOT happened. There is NO controversy and the Skins will move on regardless of who is playing QB.
So there, these threads have become meaningless...LOL.

Do I trust Joe Gibbs?.....I am in love with the guy for goodness sakes! He has my support full throttle when any decision he makes. That is what being a FAN is all about supporting your team and their decisions, good or bad.

Re: Do you trust Gibbs?
I had to vote yes. I do trust him from my own standpoint as a fan. I trust he makes decisions based on what he feels is best for the team, and that's what he's there to do. If I were Ramsey would I trust Gibbs... nope. If I were anyone else would I.... yup. Brunell and Campbell are Gibbs's QBs. Ramsey was Snyder & Cerrato's guy. I like Ramsey, and at the end of last year I thought he was going to come out of his slump and start developing into a good QB. It pained me to see what was happening and I would've given him every excuse in the world to fail. Thats why Im not the coach of the Washington Redskins.

The only different between the two is the lack of reason. Like you, Gibbs and company have my backing and support of the Brunell move even though I don't personally approve. However, if Gibbs decided that doing an entire roster overhaul mid-season, I might have to start questioning his motives. It's one thing to follow a team and another thing to BLINDLY follow a team. I think that most of us here are the former (and it seems like you are too). I'm basically just wondering what you would think if Gibbs decided that our WRs were terrible and we needed to release them now and sign some practice squadders.
