Re: Paintrain's all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread (Version 2.0)
I feel bad for S.Lee, he's a pretty good player but at this point unlikely to have a prolonged career.

I don't feel bad for the Cowboys, however. At this point, they're coming off a historic worst defensive season and they've lost Ware, and Hatcher and replaced them with an injured Melton. Lee is now not coming back, and they traded their 3rd rounder to us and really only have their 2nd round pick to help replace the defensive losses.

As long as we can slow down their offense, we have a chance when we play them..
Seeing as how the skins D is almost just as bad I doubt they can stop the cowboys.

At least both teams will have no presence in the middle of their defenses unless something changes drastically.

Re: Paintrain's all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread (Version 2.0)

Richard Sherman on banning the N-Word on the field of play:

“It’s an atrocious idea,” said Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman. “It’s almost racist, to me. It’s weird they’re targeting one specific word. Why wouldn’t all curse words be banned then?”

Sherman said the N-word is commonly used among NFL players.

“It’s in the locker room and on the field at all times,” Sherman said. “I hear it almost every series out there on the field.”

This is suppose to be the new champion for changing the Redskins Team name?

He doesn't even want to give up his right to use a word that has been used for hatred since the founding of this country...

But yeah F%$# the Redskins....

Richard Sherman of Seattle Seahawks thinks NFL-proposed N-word ban is 'atrocious idea' - ESPN

What a f*cking idiot.

Still one of the best players in the league. Def was the best corner last year. Hopefully Revis dethrones him. But honestly, who wouldn't want Sherman? Would Easily be the best player on the skins if they had him. Only man that comes close punched him the face.

It helps that he plays with an elite pass rush and a pair of elite safeties (Chancellor & Thomas).

Doesn't take away from being the least targeted player in the NFL... while leading the league in interceptions. He is either the best or one of the best players on the best team in the NFL. He also may go down as the best player on the best secondary ever... but obviously they have a long way to go for that to be true.

Either way he is the best corner in the NFL. Almost every statistical category proves that to be true.

i understand that these guys are competitive and may be sour grapes ... but i cant discredit what current nfl players are saying (he only plays cover on 1 side, doesnt match up with no. 1s all game, has beast players around him, etc ...

my take on sherman is i hate him bc i hate what the seahawks have done to us in the playoffs

i hate him bc he was acting like an ass after our game when trent punched him

i hate him bc he used the NFC champ game to act "shocking" and try and brand his name for marketing at the expense of being true to his fellow nfl players

i hate him bc it seems like he runs his mouth but doesnt want to back it up when confronted (softball game and trent) .. and yeah i understand that its a game and he is a professional and he shouldnt be getting into fist fights but .... if you run your mouth and that person takes offense to it, you should oblige that person with a mutual affray.

we arent talking about tennis players here.

I wasn't questioning his talent. Just that he is taking a two sides of the coin approach when it comes to the Redskins name. You can't make a statement like he did about the Redskins name, after you said taking the N* word out of the field of play is racist. It just doesn't gell together very well, and if the Onieda nation wants that as their poster player for removing the Redskins name then they will have made a mistake.

Re: Paintrain's all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread (Version 2.0)

So Sherman speaks out against the Redskins team name but THIS is okay? Football has gone too far with it's ethics policies. Players are paid to PLAY THE GAME. If they don't like the trash talk they're hearing from the other side of the ball they can quit and leave the league at any time.

I understand there are ethics involved and obviously if a White player were to use the N word in an obvious discriminatory nature he should be penalized more than 15 yards BUT, that's rarely the case when these guys have grown up using that word as an endearing term their whole life.

The NFL needs to get back to what they're there for, FOOTBALL.

No lawyers writing up new rules and penalties to drive their bank accounts up.

No letters from congress asking to change your teams name out of the blue.

No censorship on the field when we live in a "free country."

LET THEM PLAY THE GAME DAMNIT!

Feel bad for Lee. It looked like the rookie o-linemen was going a little too hard in his first practice. Dallas is going to really struggle on defense. Looking back, that Brandon Carr signing has not worked out at all for them.

Re: Paintrain's all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread (Version 2.0)

I dunno, I feel like if they changed the name to...say, the Braves, and kept the colors pretty much the same, keep the arrowhead/spear logo.. I feel like it wouldn't really be too different. I don't really care too much either way; for me it's just getting to the point that the endless discussion is starting to bug me, and I think we all know it will never stop unless the name changes.
