Thing is we have a scoring problem still, leftover from the Brunell days. I think on paper we have a good solid team, but plagued with injuries, etc anything on paper can easily be negated. Since the playoffs are realistically out of the picture, I almost hope we tank to get the top CB or DE in the draft.

Hey you can't say that they aren't better teams than we are. They sure play better. Granted we have a chance, but those chances are slim.

Yes ...I was calling for more presssure....ANY NFL QB can kill you if given that much time.... And you cant cover for that long..... This is also on GW....

Re: Let's win for Sean: Bills vs. Redskins game thread

yea im as frustrated as any skins fan over this loss... but i was almost 100% sure we werent going to win. the bills are another 5-6 (were 5-6) team like us who really are better than that, more talented and all just like us but after the death of sean tatylor.. the normal week of practice being all haywire and the funeral tomorrow for the team, i expected the skins to not be completely ready for this game or focused.

Now we have a Thursday game and i don't even expect them to be ready for that either. They're going to have 2 un normal weeks of football due to #21's passing. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't win anymore games this season because of everything thats happened. I am a true born redskins fan, faithful untill death... but severe recent events lead to severe outcomes. im still very proud of them but i know they are all hurting, which wont help our chances in games (which hardly matter for the rest of the year now)

that and a 15 yard penalty for calling a timeout. who knew that was so unsportsman like? damn joe gibbs for being such a poor sport... calling a timeout.. what a jerk.

Re: Let's win for Sean: Bills vs. Redskins game thread

This loss is ironic. With about 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter, I turned to my dad and said, "I cannot believe this, we still have 3 timeouts. We normally have about one right now." And what costs us the game? THE FACT THAT WE STILL HAD TIMEOUTS LEFT!!!! The one game when we actually have all our timeouts towards the end of the 4th quarter, we don't really need them, and then we use one to lose the game!!! The reason Gibbs didn't know about that rule is because we've never had that many timeouts late in the game to worry about it!!!

I know, I'm sorry. Just that fucking lack of respect during the moment of silence just reiterated to me why I think as a whole Redskins fans are the lamest in just about all of sports. Love the team, hate the fans. And then for people to say the team let the fans down today? Are you kidding me? How fucking selfish are you?

It's a very general statement to make I know, and I'm trying not to single people out (not singling you out particularly) but I'm sick of it.

Some idiots will call it drinking the kool-aid. Well fuck them. It's not about that at all, it's about how fans are always expecting the worst from this team. Yeah, yeah "prove me wrong" I know. We're not playing well, true. And these last two games are games we should have absolutely won. But I'm sorry I just have a hard time rallying around my fellow fans when they decide they're going to throw in the towel.

It's why I don't watch games anymore up here with people who say "Well I have no hope for this team...but I'll be right there cheering for them when they win" Yeah well you know what, good riddance to you.

(I apologize in advance for the language, but I'm just tired of this)

Re: Let's win for Sean: Bills vs. Redskins game thread

Sigh. Disappointment is starting to become a very common feeling for me on Sunday afternoons. With all that this team has been through, I have to believe that they weren't prepared to play the game today. And that is totally understandable, if I was a player there's no way I would feel that I could give my best effort almost a week after losing someone like Sean.

This game showed us more of the issues we've seen all year. Halftime leads, letting the other team get back into it in the second half, it's a problem that hasn't gone away and isn't likely to go away this season. I'm not really worried about the playoffs, I just wish the season was kinda over right now so that these guys could get away and have some time with themselves to grieve. I know that the guys in that locker room are feeling just as, if not worse, than I feel right now, and maybe some time away would be able to help. I don't think after the way that we played today that we will be able to get back into the playoff race, and I hope that the end of the season gets here quick so we won't have to watch our team lose anymore games in this heartbreaking fashion anymore.

Re: Let's win for Sean: Bills vs. Redskins game thread

Im not here to question anyones loyalty to the Skins but stop your self pitty. So they lost who cares, really? All those players can still go home to their families and as for us fans we can go on with out lives. If you think about it losing the way we did may be the ultimate tribute to ST. During the game i caught myself thinking if only ST was in there he would have nailed that guy or ST would have picked that pass off. Dont you think the fact that we lost shows how important he was to us on the field? We as fans saw the Skins lose a game but they really lost more than that, they lost a teammate and friend. I couldnt imagine how emotionally drained the team as a whole is and then have to come out and play off of emotion, thats alot to ask dont you think? I know ill get a lot of crap from people on this site but thats OK....

I was watching during the pre-game too when they held the moment of silence, and when I heard the fans cheering I honestly thought that we must have some of the most retarded fans in the league. When we say "moment of silence" we don't mean "cheer on a beloved player", but obviously some people didn't get the memo.

As for the Skins, I'm giving this team a pass for the rest of the season, like a lot of people have said they are emotionally drained and it's a lot to ask of them in a time like this.

No problem SS. I didn't get to watch the pre-game but I hate people who can't respect the moment of silence thing. I hope whoever was cheering got their ass beat after the game in the parking lot.

I don't expect the worse, I never did till now. I'm not gonna throw in the towel, I will continue to watch every game and continue not making money on Sundays because I'd rather stay home watch the Skins. That's just how I am. Everyone's a little hurt right now because they wanted a big win for Sean and ya know you gotta give fans the benefit of the doubt, SS.

I REALLY hope no ones blaming the players for this loss though because I sure don't. I don't think anyone was expecting perfection. But some people pull so hard for the team that when they're let down it's just like a "Fuck it" mentality, you know? I'm not a kool-aid drinker, I'm not a hater-aid drinker, I just call it how I see it. And how I see it right now, I don't think we're gonna finish up the season very well, based on the tragedy of ST and how.. well.. we're not a team that finishes up games very well.

I know most people want the Skins to do well and for the naysayers, I wish they'd stay off this site. But, everything's gonna be alright in the end, even if we don't make the playoffs.

No need for hostilities, we're all Skins fans here. (At least I think so :confused

I agree 100% with this part of your post. I usually get mad at the Skins when they lose but this week it doesnt feel right to get upset. This week is like "Who cares?" Maybe only some of use have realized in the last week that LIFE is more important than football. Isnt that what we have been talking about all week?
