Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
He reminds me of Tua 100%, if everything is on time and in rhythm, you wont find many better, but if you can get to him and knock him off his spot he will struggle

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Chatter about him playing with a cracked rib and clearly laboring. This won't help his round 1 stock but the overall body of work will keep scouts in tune. Mich. Defense is raunchy. No telling how they'd make the other super duper touted QBs look worse than they are as well. Michigan crushed qbs this year. This is not a shock at all.

2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

No Penix. Was hurt for three different years at Indiana and lefty quarterbacks make me nervous. I know there are a handful of great ones, but man it seems like an awkward motion. We need a LT or a QB named Maye or Williams , maybe Daniels with that second pick. Penix also has three stud wr’s that bail him out. Hard pass. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
If Harbaugh gets the coaching job, I can see him making a play to get Caleb.
The Harbaugh brothers like athletic QBs. Penix supporters got real quiet. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Penix played great in the semi-final. I hadn't seen him play at all until that game. I was very interested to see what he would do vs. that Michigan D, and he came up small to be honest. Missed wide open receivers all night. That game really could have been much closer, but he just didn't play well. Looked hurt too, which probably contributed to his poor play also.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Report is he got trod on on one of his INT's and hurt his ankle, and that affected him there on out.
I agree, availability is a big marker for a QB. Keep the #2 pick and get Maye. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Penix is too much of a injury liability to get picked in Top 5. It's Williams, Maye, or Daniels.
I'm on the Daniels train until I get off at the next Maye stop.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Let's say Caleb or Maye played for Wash last night. Would they have fared any better? C'mon guys be smarter. Any QB that is under that kind of pressure is not going to have a good game. Mich's defense was flat out balling last night and that made Penix about as uncomfortable as I have seen him. The pressure got to him, just like it does w/ the greats in the NFL like Mahomes.
W/ that being said it's all about the overall body of work, not one game against a superior opponent. And it's not like Caleb or Maye or Daniels didn't have bad games along the way. Look at Caleb's numbers against top defenses. He's not even a 60% passer. The QB's are not going to play well if the guys around them don't. The QB is the most dependent guy on the field. |
