Drunk Thread

[over the mountain]

we went to phily saturday to walk around and get drunk.

had beers at the paddy pub that always sunny in philadelphia is based off of. real cool dive bar. its off race st in olde town. the owners name is frank!

saw 1 eagles hat entire time. that was it. no one was rocking any eagles gear. everyone was interested in the phillies and penn state. shoot, i saw more giants fans than anything else.

had a pork sandwhich from dinics in the reading market and a cheesesteak from jims which is so far the best cheesesteak ive had in philly.

Man I'm feeling it today. Didn't get in from the game until 1:30am, then proceeded to have a few more beers and re-watch the game which I had TiVo'd. Crawled into bed around 3:45am. Ugh. Great times though.

Thank goodness I took the morning off from work.

had to do a "penalty shot" this weekend. went to this bar that has a rule that you must completely finish your drink before you get a new one. sometimes my lady lets her beer get a lil warm and she wont finish the last quarter or so.

well she wants a new beer, he aint given her one til she comlies with the bar rules. (they owner actually screwed me one time. i ordered a gin n tonic, he made it virtually all gin, it was disgusting, i had to pour it out in the bathroom so i could get a new drink. bastard did it on purpose).

anyways, i grabbed her beer and finish it. bartender sees me. he declares a penalty shot, poured me a shot out of some bottle they had under the counter, not lined up with their normal liqs. it was clear, i say "what is this water?", down the shot, it was warm crappy gin with a taste of pickles or something.

well about 10 mins later my stomach starts churning and turning. f'in bastards.

Want to go ahead give a shout out to another mighty damn fine beer I had many times with no complaints. Heavy Seas "Loose Cannon IPA" made by Clipper City Brewery out of B-more. Packs a punch at 7.25%, but this IPA has a moderate intial floral hop taste which finishes smooth with balance up front as well back. Surprising light IPA for such a smooth taste much like a Laganitas IPA or one of my favorite beers: Breckenridge Trademark Pale Ale. Give this unique, very floral, aromatic Clipper City beer a try. I miss my Southpaw. I could only get it when I was in college. No place around here sells it at all.

See it here every now and then. Actually picked some up bout a year ago at a convenice store, same solid taste. Made by Plankroad Brewery same as icehouse except without all the sugar taste. God anybody remember icehouse and how sweet that beer was? It taste like beer brewed with sugar cane..disgusting.

$11 for a 30 pack and if you can tell the difference between it and Coors Light you are fawking Superman! Try Keystone Ice as well with the 5.9%.


I don't think it is just college kids that keep these beers alive. If you go into most blue collar/ Working Joe bars they are drinking mainly from that list.

All summer I would start the night with one of these, but holy CRAP do they **** you up...

My wife and I have very few, "You are forbidden to do that." between the two of us, but that is one that we've now made permanent. No more Four Lokos, Jooses or Max Vibe. I literally feel retarded when I have them. Even though officially it's the equivalent of drinking like 6-7 beers, I slur like I've had 20.
