Not too many WRs, especially 3rd round guys, have an impact in year one, but Hankerson will certainly get his shot considering how paltry the rest of the group is. Apparently he's got a great work ethic and no character flags (rare for guys from The U), so I have high hopes for the kid. I wonder where Malcolm Kelly will fit in, if at all....

Finally a position of need, to bad he's not that good. But hey I'd rather take a chance on a position of need than a position of overhaul

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
From NFL.com:
Thompson has the instincts, initial quickness, hands, mentality and special teams experience to be a productive sub-package defensive back in the NFL. Not blessed with size or top-end speed to hold up on an island or become a full-time starter. Does a good job in underneath man coverage, pressing at the line, jumping routes and making plays on the ball. Is comfortable and effective in zone coverage. However, does not have the length or deep speed to run with vertical threats down the sideline. Will help out against the run, is a sound tackler in the open field, but has difficultly getting off blocks. Late-round prospect.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
It seems clear that they expect the young bucks from last year - Cook, Capers, etc. - to grow up and be that competition.

Mark Herzlich in the next pick would be outstanding!....let him take a roster spot play backup...if he could fully return you have RAK Herzlich and Kerrigan for years!

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7
We still have UDFA and UFAs to sign some guards so Lich can play center, people. Don't panic just yet.
