It is done.
I hope they keep Bobby Turner and Sean McVay. |

NFL - Baylor's Art Briles, Seattle's Darrell Bevell among top candidates for Washington job - ESPN
nice comprehensive list by Clayton by names we've discussed

Seriously, enough with the excuses. Bottome line is he had the same winning % as Spurrier and Zorn. Pathetic.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
I really hope the Skins do not hire Briles (just looks like he belongs in college) or try to get a coach to get out of TV land like Cowher or Gruden.
Create a future, that works out better than trying to recreate the past. Same concept applies to signing big free agents. |

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
Jim Schwartz may not be the best HC but he is a great DC. I would not mind if we brought him in as DC and switched to his favored 4-3.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
I will be supremely pissed if we switch to a different defensive scheme again. That'll put us behind another two-three years trying to get the right personnel that we put together to switch to a 3-4 scheme. no No and NO!!

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
well we never got a traditional 3-4 nose tackle. and seems like we're short on line backer and have good 4-3 de and dt prospects. I don't think the switch will be that difficult.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
I understand some of your feeling. But I think switching to a 4-3 would be more painless than it was switching to a 3-4 previously because of our personnel. Rak and Kerrigan could play as hands-down DE's today. Cofield and Bowen could play DT. Although we'd have to work on our linebacking corps, we'd have a decent DL set.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
This team has enough issues in regards to attitude, laziness, cockiness, lack of discipline, goon shots, etc than to bring that pathetic clown anywhere near the team. This franchise is already a joke.

I think Riley would have an adjustment as well, if memory serves he played something similar to a 3-4 at LSU. I'm sure it's different because in a 3-4 he could always rely on Fletcher to take away some responsibility, whereas in a 4-3 he'd be the only mike on the field. I'm also unsure who we'd shift to outside backer in the event this does happen, maybe put Keenan Robinson on the outside (though this would stunt his development again). Rob Jackson could also play outside, but we might have to upgrade if those didn't work out. As far as Schwartz goes, I don't know too much about him other than his failed stint in Detroit and his history as d-coordinator in Tennessee, but I remember them having decent defenses. I'm a fan of older coaches that know their place, the ones who aren't head coach material but are very comfortable running an offense or defense. |

As per Chris Russel, Haslett is staying for now. Hope it's long for long.
