What’s bothersome is these are recent kids killed by gun in Houston. Tragic, extremely. I wonder what the families of these young lives gone think of this recent story? How should the public view this issue...in order to stop the violence? I think we have to have honest conversations...but how the story Jaismine death unfolded is anything but honest. It’s used itself as a weapon for a misinformation campaign...and doesn’t solve a thing.

At this point, does the truth even matter? Is the death stale, unimportant? Sadly to those who exploited it, yes. They want to wash their hands of it...go back erase the tweets, remove the mentions, the Facebook post, media will now correct articles, update previous articles, move off the front page to the back page, etc. Its a this false, faux outrage that is so hypocritical and the fact it’s allowed to be perpetrated recklessly should be the story...that’s the fake news.

Why are we worried so much about media jumping the gun to get a story, but the POTUS pushing false narratives that literally endanger lives is a footnote?

Again, trump has zero to do with this story. It’s the false narrative of identity politics which have been perpetuated by the media to meet an agenda. It’s driven a false impression of the country and wants to divide in order to profit. Trump hasn’t said any of that.

Wait a min, I thought the red pickup truck from the Jazmin Barnes story was from her family identifying it as the suspect vehicle. Obviously the shock and trauma of seeing their kid die next to them played a role in the eyewitness ID'd being wrong.

But forreal Chico, if it happens and the parents tell the cops the shooter was a white guy in a red pickup truck, and the police go to the media with that information, do you expect the media to sit on that before they get better info or roll with it?

As much as I hate to say it, "7 year old innocent kid dies in a drive-by shooting where someone else was the intended target" is a juicy headline and guaranteed to get clicks. Hence why they put that shit front and center.

Then later when it comes out the shooters were 2 kids in a rental who thought they were doing some retaliation shit, I'm sure that article was posted too. Maybe not in the same spot as the first article, (I'm guessing it depends on previous articles, if interest was still high then possibly but if it's not generating as many clicks then probably not).

My problem is you're blaming the media for misreporting info here when the cops were the ones that said their suspect is a white guy in a red pickup. Where did the cops get that info from? The family. The same family who was in shock and hysteria from getting shot in a drive-by.

Ummm I made correct claims which were backed first by hyper partisans articles based on false narrative. And then I posted quotes by those involved. I didn’t spin anything...the spin is now by cnn who have gone in posted anti gun rhetoric articles under jasmine Barnes updated arrest. They moved from hate crime bullshit to gun control articles. Maybe they should post information on the gang problem in Houston which lead to the death of this innocent child?
