Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
Washington Hogs
It would be a nice tribute to Joe Bugel and throwback to the most successful years of the franchise. Marketability- Hogs are easy. We already have the Hogettes and other folks who dress up at games with pig noses. We can have pig races at tailgates. Adopt a hog mascot to run across the field for pregames. Hell bring a few more to the party and have a stampede. Food pork themes. Vegan pig. Cups/mugs that dual as pig noses when you raise your glasses. Stuffed animal pig toys. Oinking crowd noises. Hail to the Pigskins Hail Victory Hogs on the Warpath Fight for Ol' DC Why does this work well as a football mascot? Hogs are agressive animals. Smart too. Always getting dirty and throwing their weight around. A tough mascot to exemplify a tough football team. From a PR standpoint, the franchise could befriend PETA and throw money at animal welfare groups that focus on pig farms. Raise awareness about feral swine and invasive species.

Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
Hogs was a nickname for the OL which was awesome but it's not really a great name for the team.. I guess he could go with the Razorbacks logo but what other pig logo works?

The team would be served well, and Snyder, to turn the new name into an outreach opportunity. Of course, in D.C., if you choose the "wrong" charity (politically) you'll get crap from the same people that just canceled your name.

Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
Change the name to HOGS and slap this on our helmet...at least twice a year.

Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
Sunny if you're suggesting we go get Joe Flacco...please don't.
I'm OK with replacing Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey with Keanu on our sideline though.

Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
Effective immediately, Washington will call itself the “Washington Football Team”, pending adoption of a new name, sources tell ESPN.
This is not a final renaming and rebranding for team; this is the name it wants to use until pending adoption of a new name in the future.

Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) Tweeted:
Washington will not have any change to its color scheme. It will still use burgundy and gold. The Redskins logo on the helmet will be replaced by the player’s number in gold. The Washington Football Team will debut its home uniforms in week 1 against the Eagles. https://t.co/8DpC6b0Tyj https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/sta...903265794?s=20 |
