I know its nitpicking, but the Saints only won 4 in a row, the lost to the Rams today - but yeah I get your point ;-)

We're not as far away as we may think though. If we work on the discipline, we can win a lot of games. We really did hand this game over on a silver platter.
I still say we end with 9 wins...hopefully 10.

Surely the past couple of seasons alone should prove to the non-believers that whilst there are games left or time on the clock it isn't over ...

13-0 down to Dallas, then 2 x bombs to Moss to win

The Troy Vincent FG block, Sean Taylor return and susequent Redskin FG to win

5-6, then ripping off 5 straight wins to make the playoffs in 05.

Hopefully the Giants will kick some Cowboy ass to help me feel a bit better, heck Romo could tear an ACL in the next 2 hours, ANYTHING can happen guys - come along for the ride!

That stuff could happen bud, but we will need 5 wins against a tough schedule. Cowboys are the best team in the NFC period. Gmen are up there also. We lose all NFC East games from now on. Minnesota at Minnesota is going to be tough and a probable loss. TB is a toss up. Chicago and Buffalo should be wins, but for godssake if we get anymore injuries forget it. Moss is done for the season as being any sort of threat. You are not going to get any heroics from him this season.

...so thats why you have depth, thats when people get their chance to shine. Moss was out today, Thrash stepped up. Taylor may be out, the rest of the guys are just gonna have to step up their game!
Betts stepped up last year, its somepne else turn to make a name for themselves this year by coming out of nowhere and playing beyond what most casual fans would believe they can - theres a reason why these guys are in the league, they can play, a lot of them are just waiting on their chance - and when they get that chance they gotta grab it.

Re: Redskins vs. Eagles round II game thread

I just can't believe how well the offense and playcalling looked today (aside from the last trip inside the redzone which was God awful) but how poorly the defense played. Even a gimpy Mcnabb runs all over them....again!!!

And for all the Thrash haters on here, how bout now??? He's one of the hardest working guys on the team!

Is it not being a fan that allows us to BELIEVE these things can happen?
Cowboys game is not a gimme for them, we had the Giants on the ropes and let them off the hook - if we have aspirations of being a good to great team we need to be able to beat the likes of the Cowboys/Giants, not just the Dolphins/Lions.
This team is a lot closer than a lot of people would have you believe, we may have lost today but we saw progression in the passing game, Portis is hitting form just when we need him - we MAY lose to the Cowboys, but we MAY win and it'll be a cold day in hell before I say we WILL lose to them!!!!

Oh yeah and Gus - Minnesota will be a tough game and a probably loss?
AP just went down with an injury, they just got blanked by Green Bay.
Without All-Day is Brooks Bollinger gonna tear us a new one?
I'm looking at that game as a W.

Re: Redskins vs. Eagles round II game thread

Of course everyone wants to beat Dallas and make the playoffs, but we have all the intangibles against us. All of the folks in here are making valid points about different aspects as to why this team is failing. Coaching and discipline is in question. More importantly, their heart is coming into question. The injuries alone by themselves would be enough to bury most teams. To be a playoff team you need to beat the teams you are supposed to beat. We barely did it against the lowly Jets and got spanked in the end by the Eagles. OF course every Sunday is different and nothing is written in stone til the game is played, but I just think the tide of recent events is going against us bigtime

How serious is his injury? If it is not an ACL tear type thing or broken leg he should be ready to go against us in December. The attrition rate of our team is horrid, so you might have us lose a few more players also.

Yeah, I have been dogging thrash all season, but I have to admit, he looked good. He doesn't create good separation, lack of speed I guess, but he makes good routes and has reliable hands.
Hopefully he won't be out for long.
