I realize the question "what else is he going to say?" applies, but this quote was perfect to me. It has confidence, completeness, and yet lacked smugness and pompousness.

looking online at him, really liking the pick, and the draft!
LIAR!!! CUT THIS MAN! We're now looking for high character guys. Not bold faced liars. Send a message Shanny.

Competitiveness/ Toughness - 2 - Shows good toughness as a receiver. Not afraid to work the middle and frequently makes tough catches in traffic. Very competitive. Not as physical as a blocker. Needs to improve effort and attention to detail in that area.

1 = EXCEPTIONAL2 = ABOVE AVERAGE3 = AVERAGE4 = BELOW AVERAGE5 = MARGINAL

3-4 DEs rarely make probowls. 3-4 OLBs do make probowls.

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3

After Day 2 I'll go with an A-. The - only because I thought there were better NT's available (Austin, Ellis, Paea) but like someone said, Bowers racked up 15 sacks so Jenkins was collapsing the pocket and drawing double teams. Hankerson was an total steal, SHOCKED he made it all the way to #79. Most gave him a 2nd round grade and some (even Prisco) gave him a 1st. Not to mention trading back to now have at least 1 pick in the last 4 rounds is something Vinny would've never done. We still need an OT, ILB, QB, CB, but I can sleep in peace knowing we filled needs at value spots.

You do realize that NE (that great organization you know?) passed on Jordan as well and they run the 3-4 as well. So why are we dolts for passing on him, and the Pats brilliant? Hell, they need pass rush just as bad as we do.

I'm sure you've gone over all their game film repeatedly, unlike Shanny and crew just viewing youtube highlights of players. Amateurs I tell ya.

I wouldn't say the pats have drafted well the past 5 years or so. They've drafted 3 rbs and 4 corners in the first two rounds over that span. And passed on clay matthews.

That's not fair. Vinny traded back frequently. The difference is Vinny would screw it up.

Still I think Snyder should have set up Vinny watching the draft on hidden camera as retribution for all those crappy drafts and explanations.

"NO A LEFT TACKLE! What are you doing. Chris Samuels is young!"

"Another OLB! At least take a corner"

"That guys to fat to play football."

"You should have taken that reciever earlier. Now he'll have no confidence."

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3

I don't love the Kerrigan pick. I hope he turns out for us, but the 2nd round seems great to me. Hankerson was a great pick, IMO. Lots of value and a position of need. Hopefully that DT can play NT.

I love that we're getting a lot of picks/players out of this draft. To me, that's huge. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks will make up most of your team. This is where you get the OL, RB, and DL type players that your team is based on!

I just want to say that I'm not saying that they've done bad, just that they are overrated when it comes to hitting their picks. However, nobody moves around the board better.

You may be right. But a better argument would be that Jordan is a better scheme fit than Kerrigan.

That said, I think we got a heck of a player in Kerrigan. I'm good with that pick.

Plus the OLB position was a greater area of need than DE. Now we could possibly have 2 guys with double digit sack potential with him and Rack Daddy. Plus the guy has a non stop motor, wants to play for us, and he is just a solid all around football player. We need guys like him. Plus he has done it for 3 years as a starter.

The draft itself is a crap shoot. However, the more picks you have, the higher your chances of landing people that will impact your team. It's funny though, this guy on Extremeskins broke down the drafting records of BB vs Shanny and Shanny actually had a better success record than the Hood Rat himself. Even then, I think Shanny has said that you'll be a genius if 1/2 of your picks pan out.

edit: I didn't mean to give off the impression that the Pats were some drafting gurus. They aren't, but they have more pics than anybody so their chances are probably higher they'll get more impact people out of the draft.
