Re: Redskins Trade for Alex Smith

I think Rodgers is waiting on Brees and Cousins, and rightly so -- with 2 years left on his deal and both sides agreeing on his importance, it is reasonable to see the market.

I like Rodgers and think is the best and takes his team to a higher level. But I still believe no one player should cripple a team with their contact.

Unless the cap takes a serious dive in the next two years 30M won't cripple a team like Flaccos deal did and is right for an Elite QB.

2 things one there was a rumour he may get a 200 million dollar contract.

Which if 6 or 7 years would be around 30 million.

The other thing that we have to remember is the money they get comes from us.

I also heard that rumor, they also said he will only sign if they get him a jumbo 747 complete with 200 hoes and a bar where every shelf is top shelf.

You need to expand on this a bit, don't think I'm following here.

The money comes from tv contracts, stadium naming deals, and finally ticket sales. The money is from us fans only in a tertiary way at best and if the players didnt get their slotted share it would go back in the owners pockets, not ours.

Rodgers, for what he brings to his team is certainly worth 14% of a team's cap, in today's market.

Cousins is not, though some team may risk it with him, I am glad it won't be the Skins.

You don't have a clue as to where the money comes from.

Why the hell do we have to remember that?

When was the last time an NFL team wanted to sign a player but couldn't because the check would bounce?

Alex Smith......... He's our QB I'm not worried about Kirk anymore. Combine is over. Time to draft and sign some guys to help us get back to the playoffs next year. Httr

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith

According to Cooley on his show this morning, Vikings have a standing 3 year 90 mil fully guaranteed offer on the table for Kirk.

He said he spoke to someone with knowledge of the offer at the combine this week.

I think based on what Kirk and his agent have emphasized as priorities in the past, this may be right up his alley.

Money, defense, weapons, run game, organizational stability. I can totally see this happening.

There are Minnesota writers who say they are trying to resign Case.

Are they advocating they should, or reporting they are trying?

https://www.sbnation.com/2018/3/1/17...keenum-vikings

It doesn't seem like Zimmer is endorsing the effort if they are actively trying to sign him.

It's liars poker right now with all these teams: Broncos, Cleveland, Vikings, Jets.

Re: Redskins Trade for Alex Smith

Cousins to the Vikes makes too much sense, they’re built to win now and they can afford him.
