Re: Week 8: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
I'm not even that mad honestly. We were 4-12 last season, 8-8 would be a food year

That's a funny typo.

And what's this we're lucky to be 4-4 crap? Why aren't we unlucky to be 5-3 or 6-2?

Pencil in two losses against the Giants again this year. No way our line can handle them if we can't handle Vanden Bosch and Suh.

Re: Week 8: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
Also, this game has me really thinking the McNabb pickup wasn't that much of a improvement over JC. I am not saying Donovan isn't that much better than JC, he is a lot better than JC, but I am really wondering if we were better served keeping those picks and just riding out the storm with JC. Donovan is a quality QB, but damn, with the line probably going to be a sore spot til 2012 realisitically, his effectiveness is going to be truly hampered until then, and by then he could end up a walking injury or just be on the sownward slope of his career.

Not sure what that has to do about my post about the first 8 games, but I believe we can split with the Giants though it will be very very tough. The Giants are much better than I thought they would be

Dude, I owe you a big apology about Bradford. I thought he would end up like Leinhart because he went to a powerhouse, with a wicked offensive scheme or he would end up a walking injury. That guy is the real deal and I will cheer for him for sure the rest of the way. I always thought he was a nice guy, just didn't think he would make a good pro, since he came from a stacked team. |

You think it might be a little early to "strike your colors"?

Donovan isn't the problem for sure, the lack of an effective line and only two decent Wrs isn't going to get the job done. Stafford hit all starting Wrs, Donovan only two. Can't win ballgames when your new feature back is only getting a yard per carry(Williams had like 4 ypc). |

Re: Week 8: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread
You know, you can change the culture around here, you can instill hope and confidence all you want, but you can't win games if your offensive line can't run block or protect the qb.
Btw that was a bad decision to bench McNabb for Rex at the end of the 4th. I know you're trying to win games and give us a better chance, but 1. Sexy Rexy does not have any timing down with the receivers (I'd love to see the percentage of practice reps he's gotten with the first team from his time of signing up until now), 2. A bad offensive line will kill you no matter who's playing behind it, and 3. Even if he does win the game, you might be planting the seed of doubt in McNabb's head that he would want to sign an extension and finish the year. But that's not to say that'd be a good thing, because his play this season hasn't exactly made us rush to sign him to an extension. All I know is that there is a lot of questions left to be answered after this upcoming bye week. Shanny benching McNabb isn't the same as Reid benching McNabb, those two had a history together and McNabb probably knew he'd get his job back. Shanny and McNabb have had 8 games together, and are obviously still in the getting to know each other phase.

Yeah I agree, but my point is we are not going to win if Donovan is stuck with this line and to properly rebuild it, you might not see a decent line til 2012 or beyond. By that time Donovan is over the hill or a walking injury due to the lack of protection. Also in the scheme of things if we went 2-6 or 4-4 before the bye, what difference does that make? 4-12 or 8-8 isn't going to get you invited to the big playoff party. THe loss of two picks in 2011 set us back a bit for rebuilding the offensive line. |
