Granted I support Romney because I think his plan has more potential to get the economy going but Obama's plan isn't going to destroy America. I mean it might get annoying having 10,000 different EPA regulations to follow and an even more complicated tax code but it's certainly not going to destroy us.
You are always harping on Obama without any rational...Specifically, what regulations and anti-bussiness practice of his administration bother you?

If you cant articulate your opinions with some facts and thoughtfulness you are no better than the extremist.

I did. Well not me personally but I posted this video a couple of pages back which cited multiple examples.

Either way I work in transportation but I'd rather stay anonymous online. Needless to say I deal with the EPA and DOT on a semi regular basis and they enforce enough unnecessary costly rules that make the delivery of goods more expensive which results in higher prices for the end consumer. Heck some of the equipment they force companies to buy cost the same as a years salary for one employee. So instead of hiring a person to help their business, companies are forced to buy equipment where the impact in terms of protecting the environment is minimal.

The video should cite more then enough examples though.

Yeah I don't think he was talking directly to DB59. Even if he was who knows, he could have been a lurker before signing up.

It's possible. I looked back at the 2008 election stuff. I'm pretty sure I posted more but all I could find so far was being upset about not registering to vote with a valid libertarian candidate up for a senate or congress seat and a bad Tina Fey/Sarah Palin joke in the thread where Palin was called out on here $150k wardrobe.

By the time October 2008 came around I'm pretty sure I was rooting for Obama to win. If for nothing more then the fact that Obamacare gave me a chance to be insured with a pre-existing condition. And the irony of Obamacare is for all of the criticism directed at it I loved it because at the very least it started to get the ball rolling on stopping insurance companies from denying coverage and dropping sick people from insurance plans when they got to costly.

Now any plan the Republicans come up with for health care will have to include a provision which stops insurance companies from cherry picking patients given that the patients make an honest attempt to acquire coverage rather then waiting until they're sick.

Also before I forget thanks FirstDown for having my back

He was referring to his conservative friends and people he knew that were talking that stupid shit 4 years prior. I'm quite positive he wasn't referring to anybody here.

You're citing Allen West? Well, that answers the extremist question. Did you verify his claims or are we to take them at face value? I mean, this guy seem to imply all the regulation is bad not simply less regulations.

When there is a need for regulation there should be developed in concert with the private sector and done in common sense.
I don't believe Mr. Allen quite understand that regulators aren't suppose to be in bed or do anything in concert with those being regulated. I just hope you realize that this is the reason why SEC is so in effective in dealing with the shenanigans that go on of Wall St.

There are no job killing regulations. I was wrong and I appologize. I will withdrawal my support for Romney.

Sorry it's just that no one ever says anything like that in these threads. In all seriousness you will see in the near future how badly cap and trade fails in California. On top of that lets not forget about the Transport Rule that was recently struck down citing that the EPA had overextended itself. Keep in mind that the more and more specialized equipment and limits the EPA requires and imposes raises the cost of doing business. We are competing in a global market place.

We don't need to force every 2010 truck and newer to use $4 a gallon DEF fluid to burn slightly cleaner fumes. If global warming is nearly the problem the EPA says it is then that will barely make a dent with these nickle and dime policies. Or forcing trucks to add "freon recovery units" that stop freon from going into the atmosphere at a cost of $3,000 per truck.

Or lets not forget the EPA forcing trucks to use more and more refined diesel with lower sulfer content in an economy that already has gas prices that are to high.

These are the things I deal with on a daily basis whose cost gets passed on to you the final consumer in virtually all the tangible goods you purchase. And to clarify I am not a truck driver nor am I a dispatcher.

Rand Paul’s message to Republican convention: ‘Audit the Pentagon’ | The Ticket - Yahoo! News

Agree Agree Agree. Rand Paul doesnt say too many intelligent things, but Im glad someone has the balls to state the obvious to GOP. Its amazingly poor that our government doesnt audit one of the top money spenders of my tax dollar. Its a disgrace a party says "more spending accountability" and then turns a blind eye to the military.

Bravo Rand.

Thats been their biggest problem. It's like Republicans are all about cutting spending until theres someone to shoot though I can kind of understand why. If you're going to send someone to fight and risk their life for their country you can't really go around and pinch pennies. Then again if you stop trying to police the world and focus on homeland defense instead you don't have to worry about spending nor American soliders dying overseas.

Agree with you and Chico, Pentagon must be accountable....lots of fraud, waste, abuse over there too.

That being said, it's not a matter of just gutting weapons systems or R & D, it's about making the force more lethal, not being the World Police, and not fighting politically correct wars. Increase the use of intelligent technologies that reduce the risk to personnel (Drones, directed-energy, etc.), before kids are sent into battlezones make sure the cause is worth any amount of political fall-out or complaints from other countries (Lemay doctrine), stop being a PC military.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election (free for all edition)

Saw 2016 this weekend, definitely worth the 90 minutes. I stay up on politics but I learned some things I didn't know before. It's not a "right-wing attack piece" but examines Obama's background and attempts to understand/explain the formation of his politicial views from his childhood to young adulthood.

Before lefties just trash it, I challenge anyone on the left to point out a single factual inaccuracy in the film.
