Insults around here are like the sun rising. You can count on them every day. You're a jerk for your choice of words.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread

Crazy fact. Gus Frerotte is the only QB the Lions have faced this year who didn't set his career high passer rating against them this season.

Third - I said he didn't do poorly, but I was concerned about the Steelers games because our offense wasn't getting the job done like it should have against the Lions. Stats say one thing, but if you watched that game our O did NOT do it's best.

JC IS part of the offense last time I checked. I tell it like I see it, too bad you all don't like it.
Every QB makes mistakes during a game. Look around the league. The very best guys make mistakes. Whether it's holding the ball too long, throwing an INT or fumbleling, every single QB will make a mistake. These guys are not machines. The key is if you can have a guy who makes more plays than mistakes. Tony Romo turns the ball over every single game he plays in. But his playmaking makes up for his mistakes. Get it??

Look at the close games we've won. If JC was throwing INT's we lose a game here or there. To have no INT's through 8 games is un heard of at any level of football. But at the pro level it's just shocking. So if you really understood football, you'd realize your comments make no sense. JC is making a lot more plays than he is making turnovers. Look at the 3rd and 20 something he converts at the end of the half. Just drilled a great ball to Thrash. That drive got us 3 points. Or the TD pass he threw to Moss where he side steped an unblocked blitzer, re set his feet and hit Moss on a perfect pass. If you looked at the positives instead of one or two neagatives, you'd get the total picture. But for some reason you can't do that.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread

Ok, let's see if we can calm the waters here.

Hess, let's not kid ourselves you have been very critical of both Campbell and Rogers for a while now. I've seen though that you're coming around on Rogers. I don't see it yet with Campbell. I was frustrated too with the fumbles and the overall lack of discipline with the offense in key moments.

But we don't win that game without Campbell yesterday. He made some huge throws, he commanded the respect of the defense allowing Portis to get some huge gains. And that's not a one game fluke. He's been doing this consistenly all season.

So please specify for us what you saw, beyond the fumbles, that concern you.

No, I'm looking at the WHOLE picture, and that includes an offense that problems scoring TDs. JC was a (again I'll say) SMALL part of that problem yesterday. I just want them to fix it before November. SCORE when you get in the redzone already.

Do me a favor and stop suggesting I know "nothing" about football. That is a complete joke.

Already did specify and considering I said "a small part of me" is concerned, I don't think there is much more to specify. I also said that JC didn't do poorly but I was concerned with the offense. You guys just want to take what I say and make it into this huge JC bash fest because you love to pick fights. And you are wrong, I have been very complimentary about JC these last few weeks. Feel free to check my threads on that.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions Gameday thread

hesscl34 you should stop digging and chill.

I think what everyone is concerned about is this team not punching the ball in and beating on a team like the Lions with vengeance. The only regression I saw was is in the penalty department. That killed this team in the first half. As for JC missing wide open receivers that's possible even with his 82% completion day. It is also possible the ball wasn't intended for those wide open receivers. All in all this team needs to play better, I want a SB trophy not a playoff appearance. They played good but definitely not great vs the Lions.

This is very true. Being we are coming off a winning performance! For cryin out loud if we would have lost, the world would have become flat!

Lets not loss sight we WON the damn game without our best performance. But certain individuals on the team had an outstanding game (i.e, JC, CP,MOSS,COOLEY,FLETCH, etc)....ITS A HAPPY MONDAY FOR REDSKIN NATION, bottom line 6-2 pretty damn good at the half way point!

So we’re watching this weekend the highlight show on NFL Network. And Rich Eisen is narrating clips from the Redskins-Lions game (which was played in windy Ford Field).

And Eisen mentions Redskins running back Shaun Alexander, the 2005 NFL MVP. And then Deion Sanders barks out his pet name for Alexander.

Deion calls Alexander the “Tiptoe Burglar.”

It’s funny. And it’s arguably right on the money.

But Deion is the last guy who should be poking fun at anyone for being averse to physical contact.

In Deion’s world, “run support” means possible procedures for controlling diarrhea.
Very true. But Deoin will be in the Hall of Fame and Alexander wont..But like a lot of people said. I rather have a former MVP than a young guy like Mason who has upside and isn't declining (who can learn the offense).

The tip-toe burglar sucks!!

You could have just said, "Actually, I have commended Campbell in recent weeks, and here are some posts to back that up" And then posted some links to posts you have.

As for your other concerns, I guess I just missed them. Other than your comments on Jansen

Wow. Did we win yesterday? It seems like we lost. There's room to criticize the team, but what's up with all of the bickering?

May I suggest watching and singing along with the following:
