Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
It seems that every offseason there are posters who want us to be conservative at the QB position and either draft one in later rounds or sign one in free agency. Unfortunately that finding diamonds in the rough strategy s ofetn analogous to trying to catch lightning in a bottle. I am a firm believer that we need to be aggressive in identifying a securing our qb of the future. If MS feels he sees one in this current draft, then spend what you have to to go and get him. I don't hear NY fans moaning about what they gave up for Eli. However, I do see skins fans griping about bad QB play year in and year out.

What about Brady Quinn? Thought he was a FA this year too?

Yes. Will be interesting to see what happens with him. Have heard he currently likes the stability of being in Denver. But if he has the chance to start somewhere else....though I'm not sure where that would be

Joe Montana was not highly regarded coming out of college, but he turned out pretty good. I think it just really depends on who your scouts are. Anybody can look at an Andrew Luck or a RG III and easily see the talent or be fooled completely. It's finding those guys that for one reason or another, their stock went down, but knowing that they have certain qualities that meets NFL standards that aren't looked at by the talking heads on the radio or on the NFL Network. I think that coupled with the quality of your coaching staff really determines if that pick turns out great or not. We used to laugh at the Patrick Ramsey disciples about how he was never given a "chance" to succeed in Washington. Looking back on it, I sort of understand it. I think he was probably one of those guys where he needed that development and precise coaching to really turn into a great QB, because he wasn't good enough to overcome bad coaching on his own. I said that to say that I believe in this coaching staff, and I think picking a guy like Tannehill or maybe Foles would be the right thing for those guys, because they have a great coaching staff that could be there for them during their most critical points in their career. So, it could possibly be true that the Redskins don't necessarily NEED to bet the farm away for an RG III or an Andrew Luck. They could possibly succeed with a lower draft pick.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
I've stated many times that my preference is to trade up for RGIII and sign a lower level free agent or keep Grossman to back him up. As for plan B, I'd rather sign Henne than Flynn or Hoyer and draft Tannehill or Foles in the 2nd round. My wild speculation is if the Colts retain Manning then Luck forces a trade of the #1 pick because he doesn't want to sit behind Manning and we go up to get him.

Manning will convince the Colts that they need to draft Blackmon after they lose Garcon and Wayne in FA The Rams, already set at QB, will shore up their offensive line with Matt Kalil The Vikings will forgot to turn in their pick and will not draft anyone at 3 The Browns will take RG3 The Bucs facing Cam Newton, Drew Brees, and Matt Ryan 6 times a year will lock up Morris Claiborne as Aqib Talib leaves for Tennessee and Ronde Barber retires The Redskins take Andrew Luck at #6!!!!!

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
Good point Smoot but I just saw a website that had us giving up the #6 pick the #39 pick and a 2013 2nd rounder to move up and take RGIII. If we pull that off I would be estatic.
