Manning going anywhere but Miami doesn't help our chance of getting RG3. Although I think everything is in the hands of the Browns.

He should play in Arizona as far as I'm concerned. That seems like a great fit.
I wonder if Elway will show up to tonight's dinner wearing his two Super Bowl rings and be like "Oh...you only have one ring. I'm so sorry"

and thats why I see the Skins being a positive for him. I don't see Miami coming out next year going to the playoffs, nor do I see Arizona with their one good WR. |

According to NFL.com, if you go by total defense, the Redskins ranked 13th. Three of the top 5 defenses from 2011 (Houston, New York Jets, and San Francisco) have been rumored to be interested in Manning. Seattle and Kansas City, 9th and 11th, are also rumored to be interested. The lowest ranked defensive team rumored to be interested in Manning is Denver at 20. Really, when you rank the teams rumored to be interested, we are one of the WORST from 2011. Regarding your last, how on earth do you see the skins as more likely to go to the playoffs than either Miami or Arizona? Both teams have far more talent than we do. I'm not saying it wont work out that way, but you completely dismiss better teams. I think you are looking at this too much from a redskins fan perspective and not a realistic one.

Re: Colts Officially Release Peyton Manning (QB Thread #11)
Hey guys. REALLY long time lurker, and first time poster. I kinda feel like I know some of you guys, even though I haven't been a member until now. I've been a Redskins fan since 1982, after watching my first NFL game, during my first season playing Pee-Wee football.
Like many of us long time fans, we remember the glory days, and feel the pain of a decade+ of ridiculous front office moves, revolving coaches, and overpaying for free agents just short of retirement. Every year, I clean the slate clean and have hope. I tell myself "This is the year we turn this around", without any logic behind it. Just blind faith. I'm feeling different this year. I'm feeling hopeful based on some logic. We have competent front office staff and coaches that just need more time to finishing cleaning house after the years Danny and Vinny destroying this team. This year, we have a chance to go get our franchise quaterback. This year, we have plent of cap room to go out and get the free agents we need to bring this team back to a powerhouse. This is the year of real hope for this team. Go get RG3. Go get a solid free agent WR like VJax or Bowe. Resign London. His character in the locker room alone is worth what he is asking. Just get it done, because this could be a real season of hope become reality, and the fans deserve it. OK, exiting my soapbox now. LOL Happy to be joining this great community. |

To me I don't see Miami's OL being any better then ours... or worse. Arizona doesn't have a ton of CAP room and only has 1 decent WR. Kolb also was rushed a lot. As was the QB in Miami. Denver might be the team in better shape but their CAP space is not as good as ours. The Jets might be able to sign PM but thats it. I'm looking at the overall picture. We have the CAP room for PM and his associates. We have a stingy defense. Our offense could have won us some games with a more accurate QB and better WR's. If our offense put up 10 more points per game we would have won most of our games which would have taken us into the playoffs. Perhaps I'm drinking from the cool aid but atleast from my perspective the team is not as far off as the media and some fans would like for everyone to believe. |
