Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
We all knew that T.O. would do something dramatic in Dallas.
I hope he gets the help he needs. He is still a young guy. |

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
Reports are that Owens is scheduling a press conference in a couple of hours and he is expected to explain things.
But even IF it was a misunderstanding and he really DID not attempt suicide. If it is proven that he did take MORE than the prescribed amount of the pain meds, HE COULD BE SUBJECT TO THE NFL SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROGRAM. In other words, if the suicide subject is put to rest there is still the real possibility that he could face a SUSPENSION by the league for substance abuse. Even if he manages to clear this suicide thing up, he will still have a lot of explaining to do to the league. |

It truly is, and there's obviously something wrong up top with TO to render him that driven. While I've never been one of his fans as a result of his many negative antics he's still a human being worthy of human compassion. I truly hope none of us live a life deserving of some of the things I've read here. Please let none of the negatives be said of us. I'll continue to pray for the man, and hope he get's the help he seems to so desperately need. |

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
While TO throughout his career may have posted some ideals and attitudes that inflame some of us, do we have to think of him as less an individual?
There may be quite a few here who do not quite understand the power of depression. In November 1997 when I was diagnosed with stage four Squamous Cell Carcinoma (head and neck) primary tumor located at the base of my tongue, requiring external beam radiation therapy, Chemotherapy, as well as surgery, I know a little about depression. I was on depression medication for nine months, and still take one hundred sixty milg's of Oxycontin daily just to survive the pain. Fortunately, I never had the desire to take my own life, depression can be a troubling, and a menaceing ordeal, and for those who think slight of it, I trust you never have to experience it. You will never know, or understand it's complexities until you've been there, and done it. Didn't mean to bore you with my life's transgressions, but try to understand what we're talking about here. |

Seriously, I'll reiterate that no one is belittling the seriousness of depression, or questioning the hurdles you have gone through. Once I hear from a member of the medical profession that TO is not well, I will jump to your camp... But since you choose to assume that he's clinically depressed, I reserve the right to assume that he's just a crazy F*cktard. |

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
I don't see how this reflects on the Boys at all. Stuff like this has never been even remotely an issue with him. If you want to fault them there are plenty of other reasons but for crissake realize that clearly there is something a little more important going on here. They guy is a world class douchebag. There is no one who would dent that. But he is also a human being who does charity work among some other positive things. I hope this is just a blip on the psychological radar and we can go back to bashing him fairly for things that aren't as important.

It's true, money doesn't buy happiness, unless this is some sick, twisted way to get back into the news, which really could be possible for this egomaniac. There's probably a reason he brags so much, because he's insecure. It's VERY possible. Many times, the people who appear to be the happiest and most successful people are hurting the most inside. He does have an incredibly inflated ego, it almost has to be artificial. If he was just looking for media attention, it worked. I hope he gets help if he truly needs it though. Strange story. As for the report on TSG, many police cars now use laptops to take reports rather than paper forms. The cop may scribble some notes onto a notepad but then will enter the report into the laptop when he gets back to the car. TSG has always been reliable and it doesn't have to be written in pen to be an official report. Notice it does say "NARRATIVE 01 SCREEN" on the top. It's an automated report. |
