Re: Beach Blitz Back For 07
Good take GoSkins. I agree with you 100%. I went all three days myself and I have to say that the event was a heck of alot more organized last year.
The schedule from the team website had Cooley slated to be on hand at the Convention Center to sign all three days of the event. He showed up briefly (maybe 20 mins) and left. I spoke with a great deal of fans who were pretty pissed off. Many of them traveled a great distance to make what was supposed to be the Bigger and Better Beach Blitz event. |

I think that is the first Sean Taylor Auto I've ever seen. Those are pretty rare, nice.

Re: Beach Blitz Back For 07
I got there Saturday. The autograph line was ridiculous when I got there so I just went to the activities and did them. They were rather fun. I made a complete fool of myself on the extra point one. This one guy went old school with the bare foot and killed the ball. He should be trying out somewhere. Seriously. All in all I had fun. Rock Cartwright and I couldn't tell who the other guy was were signing when we arrived. After they left there was this line of folks waiting for lord knows who? Around 5:45 or so some people came out and said that no more players were coming out and they gave out free passes for Sunday. We hit the Tailgate party and that was fun ! We said that we'll be leaving on Thursday next year so we/I can get a chance to do everything.

Personally, I think the whole thing could have been run a lot better and would not go back. Did get some autos and the guys all seemed very nice, especially Randy Thomas and Gary Clark. Got Andre Carter, Mike Sellers, Ross Tucker, Randy Thomas, Gary Clark, and Sam Hollenback. Not exactly what I was expecting and they really had no information on who was going to be where (which was intentional, I think, so people wouldn't get mad if players didn't show), some of the attendees had some good info, but you just had to get lucky and get next to one of those people. The guys who played golf probably had a good time, and the tailgate party might have been fun too, but the actually thing at the Convention Center was a disappointment to me, pretty disorganized.

I also talked with one of the guys who appeared to be a Supervisor and he said that the reason they didn't publish a schedule of the signings is exactly what you said. Did anyone see Smoot, I was there Fri. & Sat. and didn't see him?

That would make sense because the Spirit of Norfolk was nowhere to be seen all weekend either.... LOL

Re: Beach Blitz Back For 07
Alright fellas, got a few pics of the golfing event at the blitz to post, I don't have a website, except at work. Working for Uncle Sam can't post on my gov PC......so I just fowarded a few pics of the event to my friend Mike..."aka" SBF. He is kind enough to post for me.
The setup, myself and GoSkins with Cooley. Dexter and myself, and the Grand prize I WON in the raffle. One ST Authentic Signed Jersey....yea baby! Enjoy. Thanks my friend SBF!

Re: Beach Blitz Back For 07
Matty, This was the second year we played, we did get to hang around CC last year quite a bit due to rain.
But man, having him with our two groups was truely AWESOME! He's a hell of a COOL DUDE, VERY DOWN TO EARTH......... We could not have been any more lucky, and to WIN the raffled autographed ST jersey....with the purchase of ONE $10 tic, was just unreal. Can't wait till next year!
