Re: Falcons Trade Matt Schaub to Houston
I don't know. Any owner who's able to amass three Lombardi trophies in his first seven years can't be that idiotic. Now, he lost a couple of notches when he dumped Jimmy Johnson, no doubt about that. And I think the jury is still out on the T.O. signing.

Re: Falcons Trade Matt Schaub to Houston
He didn't build that team, he just bought em. The pieces were already in place.

I hate to toot the horn for the Cowpies, but objectively speaking, you can't deny he was pivotal in the resurgence of that franchise. |

Re: Falcons Trade Matt Schaub to Houston
Agreed, but since the Jimmy Johnson era, all the coaches were "yes men" until Parcells. He's also created an atmosphere that has allowed players to go over the heads of the coaching staff and go directly to him when they have a problem which is a bit unprofessional. And since the Cowboys last Superbowl win, he's tried to buy championships like Snyder and Steinbrenner.

Re: Falcons Trade Matt Schaub to Houston
I'll admit the shine on Jones' armor has begun to fade and take a few dents. I just don't think he belongs in the bottom 3 of all general managers.

Re: Falcons Trade Matt Schaub to Houston
I wouldn't put Jones at the bottom of the pack either, but he's clearly middle of the road now.

Re: Falcons Trade Matt Schaub to Houston
Well the Texans went ahead and just flat out cut David Carr (and Domanick Williams, formerly Davis)

Re: Falcons Trade Matt Schaub to Houston
What about Oakland? He'd be back near his hometown of Bakersfield, and the Raiders could then take Calvin Johnson with the top pick

Re: Falcons Trade Matt Schaub to Houston
Kubiak is supposed to be a QB guru so it certainly doesn't say much for Carr given that he gave up on him after one year.
