Re: The Offensive Line: Should We Be Worried?
And he has alot to worry about. Especially if Samuels misses any time during the season. Starting an undrafed rookie LT's against a proven NFL DE is just asking to get your QB killed.
I did like the way JC came back and threw so real mid range & deep passes plus it looked like he had a couple of drops. |

Re: The Offensive Line: Should We Be Worried?
I think Elfin is right....to a degree. We certainly shouldn't reach any definitive conclusions about the O-line. One half of one game isn't a reliable indicator of what is to come, especially when the line's most important player (i.e., Samuels) is MIA. But, I think the line displayed enough problems that we should be concerned.

Re: The Offensive Line: Should We Be Worried?
it was the first game, for crying out loud. sure, there were issues, but none of which cant be corrected. especially with a 4 time pro bowl left tackle showing up for the Miami game

I am worried about Jansen. He really seems to be regressing these past couple of years.

Re: The Offensive Line: Should We Be Worried?
I honestly don't think he has been the same since his injury in the 2004 HoF preseason game, at least when it comes to pass protection. He looked decent last year when it came ot run-blocking, but was frequently getting beat in pass protection (both by speed and bull rushers).

Re: The Offensive Line: Should We Be Worried?
This is the real issue isn't it? Parcells saw it before the first Dallas game according to the NYT. He said something like "Jansen's getting pushed back a lot more than he did a couple of years ago." If he keeps playing like he did Saturday, there will be a movement to put Wade at RT and move Pucillo or Fabini in at LG. It's probably already begun.

Alan Faneca? Had forgot about him, don't know if he's signed yet or not, but I don't think we should spend big $ at the position. |

Re: The Offensive Line: Should We Be Worried?
Whyd didn't we try to sign Mulitalo or take a G in the supplemental draft? Is there anyone out there still worth taking a look at or are we going to have to wait for cuts?

Re: The Offensive Line: Should We Be Worried?
Mike Pucillo is (last I heard) slated to start at LG in place of an injured Todd Wade this weekend.
My prediction is Pucillo is going to do a solid job this weekend...and a LG controversy will ensue.

Re: The Offensive Line: Should We Be Worried?
Well, if he does a great job it just might end the LG controversy. Bugel seemed to hint that he doesn't want this to drag out for much longer, so I think if Pucillo comes in and shines Buges will bump him up the depth chart right away.

That is fine with me. I just want SOME kind of solidarity.
