Why do DJs choose to play hip hop and techno/dance/whatevers popular at clubs? Cause thats what tends to make people wanna get up and move. I mean sure metal can get people pumped, but besides headbanging what else can you do to it? I can imagine all the weird looks people would have on their face if some Trivium came on. I mean there are some good heart pumping rock tracks. Crazy Train is one of my favs. It's all about popularity and Soulja Boy's "Crank That" is number 1 on the pop billboard charts. Plain and simple.

Re: Redskins Stadium music
Look at what this song is doing to our fans. They're either board out of their minds or they end up acting like idiots. No more gangsta rap, just stick to mainstream hip-hop, modern rock, and classics like Phil Collins (Hell I'd rather listen to emo then soulja boy).
YouTube - Redskins Soulja Boy Thats the great thing about soccer in Europe. They don't play music during the game, instead ALL THE FANS chant. Thats how you accomodate everyone. YouTube - Manchester United chant vs. Charlton

Re: Redskins Stadium music
How'd you get that video of me?!?!
j/k What happens if people hate classic rock and mainstream hip hop? Should they crank country music (vomit) or pump some house BS throughout? You can't please everyone!

As for Soulja Boy.. I don't think I'll ever like that song. I haven't been to a Skins game, is there any other music there that they overplay?

We are the only stadium in the NFL that allows players to pick music. The music is supposed to get the crowd pumped up and is intended to enhance your game day experience. The players should already be pumped up playing in front of 90,000 fans. Just want some tunes to get the blood flowing. Some of the stuff like the Soulja Boy (God I don't know how that song is #1 on the charts it's horrible) has no bass and like I said before you get puzzled, disgusted looks from 80% of the crowd when that crap is played. Then you have to try and get back in the game after it ends. It alienates most of the people in the stands. |

Re: Redskins Stadium music
Also, if you've ever been to a game you'd know that they do play bands like AC/DC throughout the game. They pretty much only play stuff like Soulja Boy or that dumb Walk It Out song during timeouts when the D is on the field.
Would you rather they play YMCA or Carwash so that all the little kids and old people can dance like they do at baseball games?

Re: Redskins Stadium music
Hah! Something tells me that Sean Taylor, Carlos Rogers, and Marcus Washington wouldn't be youtubed dancing during a commercial break to YMCA.
