i think you have the right to your opinion, and yes teams are not afraid to go after Reed Doughty...but if we put one of the rookies there, they will also not be afraid of going after the rookies. I've stated that Doughty is an average players, I just get upset at people who just say things like "cut Doughty, put one of the rookies" out of spite without thinking about the situation. Horton could be a starter, but as someone said down the road later in the season. Right now if Doughty really f's it up, then the best option would be to put Springs at Safety, provided that our CB situation is set.

Re: Upcoming Cuts

putting in springs is definitely the most solid option, i agree that the rookies probably couldnt play much better at this point than reed, but can they play much worse? I think everyone is pretty much agreed this is the glaring weak link in our team. The problem is with the shawn springs sollution, are we set enough with torrence as a nickel back?
i think it will be curious to see how this situation plays out during the season.

Plus they team would have to wait and see how Rogers plays and whether his knee has completely healed.

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't the skins have to cut one more guy today. I looked at their current roster and they have 76. Did I miss something?

Yeah, they cut Burl Toler, Babatunde Oshinowo, Dorian Smith, Vernon Fox, and Matt Sinclair. Also what might be messing you up is today we released Jason Goode, and resigned Danny Verdun-Wheeler. We should be at 75 players by my count. Maybe they didn't update the roster yet.

That's the link if you want to check it out for yourself. I think Jason Goode still has a pretty good chance at making our PS if someone doesn't pick him up by the time we sign our PS players, which is doubtful that another team will considering his turf toe injury.

Re: Upcoming Cuts

I don't know I guess it all depends on who you consider to be a "surprise player", but if I had to go with one I would pick CB Matteral Richardson. I think he clearly has outplayed Tryon, Westbrook, and Holt to be the 5th CB on the roster. Either way I think the 5th CB is going to come down to Tryon and Richardson and whichever one doesn't make the active roster is going to be placed on the PS.

Re: Upcoming Cuts

Just alittle bit of an interesting tidbit: I just heard Vinny Cerrato say on "Redskins Nation" that Kareem Moore and Chris Horton will be on the team. So I guess that eliminates Justin Hamilton and Patrick Ghee at safety, unless we decide to keep 5 safeties.

Yeah, I know neither one had a real shot, but I do know that there were a lot of Justin Hamilton supporters around so I figured they might have an interest in this. Plus it helps people be able to figure out the 53 man roster better.

First. Welcome to the board

Second. The Bears let Ricky Manning go today, he would be worth a look for a nickel/dime position in my opinion.

Yeah I just heard about that a few minutes ago. I definitely agree with you about giving Manning a look. I am sure he's an upgrade over Leigh Torrence.
