Aaron Rodgers impressed me last night. I didn't think he would have played as well as he did.

Add rookie WR Eddie Royal of the Broncos and Jay Cutler as well. Jay Cutler looked fired up and ready to go. I believe Royal caught 9 balls-1 TD-100+ yards.

Cutler looked very good, he could be in for a big season.

Doesnt sound like he is having a hard time figuring out the playbook.

But I tell ya, watching these other rookie receivers having these good days is making me realize not all rookie receivers struggle. DeSean Jackson had an excellent day for Philly and I think he will be an immediate contributor this season, and I was hesitant to praise Eddie Royal coming into the season because he wasn't that impressive to me at Virginia Tech, but damn the kid has looked good in his opening game. It's halftime and he's already 1 yard away from reaching the 100 yard plateau and the kid looks like he has a great rapport with Jay Cutler.
Of course they don't all struggle. Generally speaking it's not an easy position for rookies to come in and make an instant impact though. And just because they had one good game it doesn't mean they will sustain their success all season. It's one game, gotta take it for what it is.

I know some people see these rookie WRs out there making plays and wonder where our guys are, but it's way too early to start worrying if we made the wrong choices. As SS pointed out there were plenty of rookie WRs that didn't make any sort of impact in week 1 so we're certainly not alone.

Yeah, let's not give up on Kelly and Thomas. It's been 1 game!!!! Most rooks don't make an impact and who knows what Royal and Jackson will do the rest of the season.

McNabb has the ability b/c he scrambles so much to make some WR's look good. He almost made Freddie ....what's his last name....look good. Mitchell.

Eddie Royal. He was all over the field making plays last night. Its good to see a local guy make a nice impression on his first game.

did it ever...i watched that game with my brother, a panthers fan, and i was telling him after the game how familiar that looked....seeing a norv coached team blow it at the end. I was impressed with matt forte and the rookie wr last night for the broncos, the kid from VT, he made me happy we didnt go after that bonehead dangelo hall....two personal fouls back to back. Hes a perfect fit out there in oakland.
