In any case, B-Mitch was largely calling Portis out for his conditioning and commitment. With regard to Portis' bitching, you've agreed with his comments. You said he's facing 8 and 9 man fronts with no running room because teams don't respect our passing attack. |

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
I heard this live this afternoon, and Portis needs to chill out... he totally flew off the handle and acted like a big baby. B Mitch looked like the bigger man, and bet he would stomp CP out if they got into it! Whoops!

As far as CP's "antics" go, he seems like a funny, nice enough guy off the field. On the field, he is a great running back. Look no further than this past weekend's game and you'll see that. I don't think the majority of us are sick of anything that Portis is doing. Maybe it's just listeners of the Sports Reporters. |

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
1. I don't know Portis, never met the man. Saw him once off the football field but that's the extent of it. Mitchell, on the other hand, I've known for 10 years and he can really get under your skin. He's an agitator, no doubt.
2. Mitchell needs the Redskins more than they need him. His post-NFL career (which was thanks to him taking advantage of the Redskins drafting him) has prominently been about being a DC area sports analyst. And what is bigger in DC sports than the Redskins? And what is the best way to get people to listen to you talk about the Redskins (or any team)? By being an agitator and stirring up debate and controversy 3. Portis doesn't set a good example Monday through Friday sure. But the good-for lack of a better word-thing about is that he doesn't claim to be. He admits that guys like Rock and Thrash are the leaders those days of the week. But on Sundays, it's on him. You know who else was like that? Riggins, Gary Clark, Marvin Harrison, and many more 4. So much for the claims that it would be all fluff once Snyder bought 980

B-Mitch is paid to make comments about the team and if that gets under people's skin that goes with the territory. If B-Mitch doesnt make interesting and sometimes controversial comments then he wont have a job for long. CP is a typical immature athlete who likes to make comments that he thinks are funny or in depth then gets angry when people dont think he's a genius. CP brought on B-Mitch's questions with his comments last week (which had the Skins lost would have become an even bigger deal) and B-Mitch's comments about CP in the past put a chip on CP's shoulder before any questions were asked. CP needed to control himself and answer in a way that makes B-Mitch look like the bad guy but to nobody's surprise he acts like a typical 13yr old. |

I always liked B-Mitch's attitude on the football field. I'm just not to crazy about that same attitude off the field.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
But Mitch isnt an athlete (anymore) and its his job to make comments (sometimes outrageous). Its CP's job to run the football, catch the football and block. IMO CP came into this interview with a chip on his shoulder for Mitch and when he "attacked" Mitch wouldnt roll over like most media types do so the interview kind of went out of control from there (actually it was funny as hell).

I think, it doesn't really matter. Who cares what either of them say. I only care what they do or did on the football field.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
B-Mitch would take Portis in a fight. Portis would probably throw out his bad shoulder or get injured. Or Portis will claim it was a pre-season fight and will wait for regular season fight.
