I think Skins fans are so used to draft picks not working out that they think it takes every draft pick 3 or 4 years to develop into a player that can just get into the game let alone be an impact player. |

http://www.thewarpath.net/543399-post41.html So, on the one hand they are right to look at all ways to improve their team (which I agree with, by the way) but on the other hand they don't bother to just trust their own drafted players?

Re: Q.B. competition?
Maybe the coaching staff doesn't think Collins provides enough competition to Colt and JC, so they want someone in to provide more competition for the QB position.

Re: Q.B. competition?
IF Leftwich is just here as the backup, it is just to get a younger guy in there. IF JC goes down or for some reason flops, we are screwed.

Re: Q.B. competition?
Leftwich 29, Campbell 27.
Leftwich would not be just a younger backup for JC - Collins is almost out of gas - he also would be a cheaper alternative (likely vet min vs. $1.8 mil. for Collins). So Leftwich as a backup would be both younger and cheaper. He's not a real West Coast qb but neither is Collins.
