I disagree. If we can draft Oher or Smith and pull a trade to land Mack, you use the rest of your picks on D and next year you build the D like you built the O and also draft a young RB and we could be in next year.

The only caveat is mending fences with Campbell. Think about it, if we can pull what I mentioned our OL would be awesome w/ lots of depth, load up on LB/DE/CB and just like that you are a serious contender, plus you can sign FA.

We have to counteract what the Giants have built on both sides of their line, right now on paper they are the team to beat in my opinion.

sometimes you gotta take baby steps

btw...this its very hard to get to 25 posts so i can create my own thread.
if you guys havent noticed im pulling stuff outta my but just so i can get a post in here and there
#1: there are grades between making a run at the playoffs and Super Bowl. How about just winning a playoff game or two?

#2: IMO it is a better idea for you to just be patient at getting to 25 posts rather than making us read garbage so that you can get there more quickly, which by the way is the Dan Snyder approach to posting.

Re: Half Assed Rebuilding Mode

The problem with Our team is that the FO gets star struck with FA's and
draft prospects and sells the farm to get them. Keep Campbell, let Him mature
and stay in Zorn's system. He's poised and versed in the system, has a strong
arm and the workings of a potent reciever core with Kelly, Thomas, and even
Davis. The drop-off came last season when the OL wore down and that's what needs to be the focus of the draft along with hopefully picking up the STUD
Mualuaga(?) to take over when Fletch"s run is done. Bottom line, stop wishing
on a star and start building a champion.

Michael D. Williams (born January 11, 1980 in Dallas, Texas) is an American football offensive tackle currently playing for the Washington Redskins in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills out of the University of Texas with the fourth overall pick of the 2002 NFL Draft. Weighing 360 lbs, Williams seemed destined to be the anchor of the AFC's heaviest offense. But, in hindsight, many observers now consider the Tom Donahoe's decision to draft Williams to be one of his biggest mistakes as Bills GM.

While he provided fair run blocking on the right side, Williams failed to show a flair for pass blocking and remained an unpolished player. Due to continued woes on the Bills' offensive line, Williams was moved by the coaching staff to left guard in order to assess his talents on the inside of the line. This tryout, though, was cut short by Williams' semi-frequent injuries.

After the 2005 season, Williams was cut. He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars on March 14, 2006 but was placed on injured reserve on August 29, ending his season.

On April 24, 2009, he was signed by the Redskins.

Re: Half Assed Rebuilding Mode

Drafting Oher or A. Smith and Mack sounds so great, especially with the players in O-line..

Samuels, Dockery, Mack, Thomas, Oher or A. Smith

I definitely would do this, even if it means trading our 2010 1st rd.. Like Sfredskins said, it would solidify the line for years, except maybe we would need a G in two years? Not only this benefits the offense, but we would be able to give JC all time he needs in the pocket.. I'm pretty sure this would help our offense a lot..

Edit: I normally don't like the idea of trading future picks, but this one just sounds so good; I cannot resist it..

It makes more sense than blowing your wad on a QB with one year starting.

Not to mention the depth we would have!

Re: Half Assed Rebuilding Mode

I would much rather give up picks for SFREDSKIN's proposed line than for Sanchez.

I completely agree. The difference would be 09 competitive vs. 09 disaster.

I wish Dan Snyder owned the Nationals. And I agree with SFREDSKIN's proposal and you might as well try to squeeze in a OLB in the 2d Round.

If Snyder owned the Nats maybe they would have uniforms with correct spellings.

How bad was that?! Fitting for the way they've been playing I guess.
