Depends on who you ask. The TD number has become overly important in peoples minds when they rank offensive skill position players. Just like sacks now dominates as a measure for defensive lineman and linebackers. This reminds of Gerald Riggs in 1991-92 season when he was our short yardage/goal line back. Earnie Byner would bust his ass and absorb all the punishment in getting us to the 1 or 2 yard line. Then in waltzes Riggs, they hand the ball and he would fall over the goal line. Riggs had 11 TD's for the season, but he only rushed 248 yards. Yet Byner had 1048 yards rushing and had only 5 TD's. Stats can't measure toughness, run blocking, route running, shedding blocks or hustle. |

I forget which interview it was, but Cooley said that Zorn promised him at least 6 TD's this year. That alone would be a boost to our ppg stat.

At the least the emphasis needs to be there on getting him the ball in the redzone. How a guy that was a 6-8 TD per year guy drops to 1 is puzzling at best.

Re: Faulk's top 5 TE'S NO COOLEY!!!!!
I totally agree. It is puzzling and Zorn bears some responsibility. IMO some of it was just (bad) luck, too. I expect that he will have more td's this year simply from the law of averages' stabilizing of things.
