Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft

If we don't get QB in the first two rounds (Clausen in the 1st or Robinson in the 2nd), I'd love to get either John Skelton or Dominic Randolph in the mid rounds. They both play for small schools which may hurt their draft status but I think they've got a lot of talent and could be good NFL QBs. Skelton may be a bit too much like Campbell and I don't know how much upside he has quite honestly. Randolph though could be a sleeper star.

Somebody on the wp mentioned Thaddeus Lewis of Duke. Good call.

Thaddeus Lewis, , NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

I watched him rack up some yards against an aggresive Va. TEch defense. He's got a great arm, size, athleticism & smarts. I think his stock will rise in the combine. He looks like a great mid round pick at present.

if cody somehow droppped to the 2nd round id grab him there. but in the first round we really have to take an o-lineman or qb.

I don't want to see a single pick used on any position other than the trenches. Offensive more than defensive, for sure.

Rebuild efforts should always start up front.

Re: Dream Draft Pick of the 2010 Draft

I want the dude from Oklahoma State, Okung I think his name is?

I'd also like to see the Skins draft Trent Williams.

In the latter round I'd like to see what kind of guards the Hawkeyes are putting out this year.

I don't see any centers that are blowing my socks off like Mack did.

The Stafford RB Toby Gerhart, I think? He'd be a good pick too.

Anyone one of those guys should be able to contribute right away.

I don't want to hear any crap from Buges about developing players. Oher is playing, for better or worse, right now. Whoever you draft in the first round should start or the person who picked them should be fired. The only exception being the QB and even then . . .

While I don't disagree w/that in theory, if a great rb or qb is available I won't jump on the front office for taking him. That assumes though that the o line is addressed both in fa & the draft.

If we have a top 10 pick I certainly think the best use, aside from trading down, is to get one of the top LTs.

I think you can pick up a good RB in the 2nd or 3rd round (yeah I know we don't have a 3rd). I'm still torn about picking up a QB in the first round...but picking up a tackle like Okung is a must.

Spiller would be awesome. This year it seems like the Rb class is pretty deep which benefits us. Im thinking Oline in the first round, Rb second round, and then make a trade up somehow to get a pick to select QB Skelton(i was at the bucknell game and he was absolutely on fire:Big big dude-reminds me of Big Ben but has a quicker release)

So you liked Skelton eh? Finally. I've been waiting for someone else besides me to vouch for him. Skelton and Randolph (Holy Cross) would be great options. But again, I wonder how much more Skelton will develop.

Sounds like a pretty good plan. I've been hearing a lot of good things about Skelton. Draft an OT in the first, pickup a good RB in the second, retain JC for a year and try to get some FA o-line help and see how it goes. Move up and take Skelton and he could have at least a year to watch and learn depending on how JC does. I usually don't like trading future draft picks, but if we can pick up another quality o-linemen after our first pick, that would also be an option. A couple of player trades for picks would also give us more ammo.

I think trading Laron could bring back a 2nd and a 4th.

Im going to admit that it was you who pointed me in his direction. But after seeing him in person id have to say that he didn't let me down and I can see why you are so enamored.

Also I see Kevin Barnes featured under your name, what's up with that guy?

Numbers game keeping Barnes out right now. I think he'll be much more prominent next year, and might get some playing time later this year.
