re: The D. Hall incident
ok he instigated it. let's say I agree, does that justify two of your coaches making very bad decisions. I saw it live and on the video in this thread also. yay

re: The D. Hall incident
It is never ok for a coach to put his hand on a player (esp that of an opposing team), just like it is never ok for anyone to put their hands on a referee. Imagine if the situation was reversed and hall had pushed Smith or one of the members of the ATL coaching staff. You can bet your bottom dollar that Goodell would be handing out an unprecedented suspension to whoever that player may be, much less D. Hall.
This issue has nothing to do with the player and coach in the scenario, the reputation of either party, or the circumstances surrounding the incident (unless someone genuinely felt that another person's long term health or life was at stake, neither of which was the case). This is a plain black and white issue, no gray area. It almost reminds me of the NBA's bench rule. No matter what the issue or profile of the player, if they leave the bench for any reason during a fight, it's an automatic 1-game suspension. I think football should institute a similar rule involving player-coach interactions.

I was in Atlanta for Hall's first 2 years so the revisionist history and short memories of Falcons' fans is pretty funny to me.

re: The D. Hall incident
That's silly, you're not suspending someone who didn't throw a punch.

re: The D. Hall incident
First of all everyone is so eager to say that it's The Skins' fault. Be real now, that situation didn't even have to be that bad. Hall 1 guy was there. A whole team including their coach that was upset for the late hit. Not one time do you see Mike Smith pulling his players away rather grabbing a player and yelling. You see other Falcons players going over to the 1 player that was there. Once Redskins players come to pull Hall away you still have the players and said coach keeping it going, not trying to calm the situation down but adding fuel to the fire. Then Haynesworth comes over and shoves the people back away from the now 2-3 players attempting to back up and he's a knucklehead ? Get the fuck out of here. If that was a Falcons player and the Redskins bench was over there with them you all would be bitching and moaning about how the Skisna acted like a bunch of jackasses. Call it the same way you would if it were the other way around. Everyone did what they would do to "protect" their teams. Let it go man. If you can blast Haynesworth for doing what he did then I don't know what you expect them to do.

re: The D. Hall incident
Frankly, I was pleased that (finally) some of the Redskins players came over as backup. When it was just Hall and no one came over, I was just disgusted. It reminded me of the time Jeff George got dragged across the field in Dallas near the end of one of our more embarrassing losses, and no one did anything. (And I never even liked Jeff George.) But if someone is dogging one of your mates, you go after them at the risk of a penalty, it seems to me.

I'm happy that the fight broke out. It sparked the game.
I have absolutely no problems with what the Redskins did. What it did do is justify (in my mind) why I think that ATL has zero class. |

He's an agenda fan. Certain players are good and always right. Others suck and are always wrong. Don't waste your time.

re: The D. Hall incident
Its really sad to see DeAngelo surrounded by the entire Falcon team and not one player from the defense comes over to help him or come to his defense. Just goes to show how f-ed up our locker room is.

re: The D. Hall incident
I guess you can't accept the truth about DH, I said nothing against the Redskins. I guess you just can't find anything else but to make me look bad since I disagree with you. I guess most of writers of the articles about what happened must be wrong and you are right?
