Re: Brian Orakpo = Beast

I'm hoping that Orakpo introduces himself to Romo a couple of times this game to let him know about the new beast in the division

People have a hard time saying that because it's usually not true.

X2. I'd like to see an Arrington/Aikman hit on Romo. Give him something to cry about.

• New Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett recently said that OLB Brian Orakpo, who led all rookies last season with 11 sacks, could be even better in this year's defense. Haslett estimated that Orakpo rushed the passer around 200 plays last season but that he would be doing that "600 to 700" plays this season.
ProFootballWeekly.com - Orakpo likely to increase sack total
Love it already. Can't argue with allowing the guy rush the QB. Awesome!

Re: Brian Orakpo = Beast

lol I think that I posted that months ago.. def good info though

to be candid though, rushing the passer with an OLB in the 3-4 is a bit more forgiving than doing the same in the 4-3

Re: Brian Orakpo = Beast

I think Orakpo is going to do to Romo what Big Ben does to his women...RAPE.

i would've preferred oher too but hard to argue w/ orakpo. hopefully haslett will have him playing more with his hand in the dirt or coming off the edge then having him cover TE's.

Re: Brian Orakpo = Beast

Mosley (ESPN's NFC EAST blogger) said Rak rushed the passer about 200 times last year...this year he's going to do it around 600 times.

This case is like others in past yrs. Orakpo alone they hit a home run, but keep in mind that has been the norm. give them 6-8 draft picks and about half were worth keeping or stayed on the team.

The last two yrs we have kept the majority of our draft picks, but give it another yr or two and lets see how many are still on the team. Hopefully between Allen and Shanahan they will pick better and keep more for developement.

On a side note though, yes Orakpo does seem to be a nice pick. I think the majority of our 1st round picks have stayed though.
From 1991 to today:

Bobby Wilson DT
Desmond Howard WR
Tom Carter DB
Heath Shuler QB
Micheal Westbrook WR
Andre Johnson T
Kenard Lang DE

98 no 1st round pick

Chanp Bailey CB
Lavar Arrington LB
Chris Samuels T
Rod Gardner WR
Patrick Ramsey QB

03 no 1st round pick

Sean Taylor S
Carlos Rogers CB/ Jason Campbell QB
LaRon Landry S

08 no 1st round pick

Brian Orakpo DE
Trent Williams T

I think the WR's were all duds and the two QB's Shuler and Ramsey. I think Ramsey could have been better had he not been thrown in to a bad scheme and pounded a lot. But it is what it is.

Yeah we witnessed that with Jason Taylor.
