Re: Jason campbells trade value
Without knowing a lot about the guy, everybody's so down on the guy because he's exhibited a bad habbit of fumbling. It's a problem that can be corrected, and one not uncommon to some players in the league. Adrian Peterson (for example) a franchise back has had problems with the issue. Once Aldridge overcomes the problem, I'd like to see what else he has to offer when given ample opportunity.

Re: Jason campbells trade value
Matt Hasselbeck just dropped a "keep it medium" on NFL Live. Still no clue what that means.

I'll take a wild guess and say it means: Don't get too high, don't get too low.

Going by Seattle and Washington's records, I'm going to say it means, don't expect too much and.........don't expect too much.

Would you say it's a philosophy used primarily to keep the emotions in check? It's a good principle to utilize in an effort to monitor run-away expectations and to dull the thud of depression when those expectations are not met to our satisfaction.

Re: Jason campbells trade value
If Hasselbeck is released, do we take a chance on him? as a good stopgap to bridge the gap until a young QB is deemed ready?

Re: Jason campbells trade value
I think Hasselbeck's days as a starter are over.

Re: Jason campbells trade value
I'd rather keep a healthy Campbell than an injury prone Hasselbeck. If he was healthy yes (as long as it doesn't cost us an arm and a leg), but he's basically on his way out.

Re: Jason campbells trade value
This is assuming Campbell doesn't win the job in training camp, and isn't released/traded before then...

Re: Jason campbells trade value
Shanahan's not going to trade/release Campbell without having a very good idea who his starter will be.

I agree....And I'm also curious to know what his eventual opinion will be of Colt Brennan. We know what the Zorn administration had to say, but I never trusted their ability to make proper evaluations of players.

Re: Jason campbells trade value
JC is better than Hasslebeck. Keep Jc, draft a decent newbie and play it out. Flip the script with JC playing the role of Brunell and the newbie being the understudy til Shanny deems him ready.

Re: Jason campbells trade value
Anyone who argues that JC has no value is a moron. IMO.
He isn't a great quarterback, far from it, but he has a plus NFL arm, very good character, is very mobile when used correctly and has been battle tested. Half the qb's in this upcoming draft will shit themselves every single time they step on the NFL stage. They will be eaten alive. JC has been in the fight. He is tough as hell. JC clearly has problems breaking down certain coverage schemes at NFL speed, but there are maybe ten or twelve quarterbacks on the planet who can do that trick very well. Give the guy a year to work with this particular coach and his offensive minded son/ or trade him for a third and a sixth. There are teams that will give us draft picks for JC, but not really good picks and that's why I argue that we keep him! |
