I like the FO doing moves that fans wouldn't necessarily like. Shows that they are at least factoring that individuals talents and seeing that they won't mesh with the new scheme.

Especially with the fact that he wasn't contributing on Special Teams. We just don't have the luxury of keeping a guy just to be our 4 or 5 WR.

I'm glad someone is evaluating talent instead of hopes and dreams.

Not hating, but when my uncle was the HC of Ohio St football in the 80's, by far the most popular majors were PE and Communications. UNless you get into some really specialized subset of the two, it might really be hard getting a job nowadays. Probably was back then also.

I agree. I am glad that the FO seems to have a clue how to run a professional organization based on effort and ability.

I've always wondered about this. Is your uncle the reason behind your Gus Frerotte love?

Yea PE back then was most likely a joke, and I thought the same thing going into it. I just wanted to coach and have summers off. But now it's like damn I'm working my ass off just to get by classes. Couldn't believe it when I'm sweating over anatomy classes, exercies physiology classes and bio mechanics. All these just to teach gym haha. I was a assistant at my old college on the basketball team and I'd love to see those guys pass some of my Phys Ed classes haha. Times are definetely changing

Re: Redskins Release 5

Little strange Mitchell was let go so early in the process also it's suprising Montgomery didn't make it out-of-camp. Both players will be picked up very soon probably Washington Redskins West (Oakland Raiders).

Re: Redskins Release 5

I had high hopes for Marko. He has the size and speed to make it. I also liked his, take no s**t from the DB's attitude. I'll be interested to see if he makes it with another team and how well he performs if given the chance. "Tootsie Roll" Montgomery is just to damn lazy for his own good.

Also I remember this kid named Anthony Dixon (I think), who was released last year and people acted like we had released Reggie White.
You may be too young for this name, but the Captain of the All-Time Preseason Team would have to be the inimitable Babe Laufenberg. He was an All-World QB in preseason while playing against the opponents' third-stringers.

Re: Redskins Release 5

I would've liked to keep Marko Mitchell. For a duo of 38 year old WRs, I think there's more potential there with Mitchell. BUT, I agree we need to light fire under their a$$es at each position, so they know that their time is limited if they don't produce..

Not surprised at all about Mitchell being released. I fully expected it, though not this soon.

No surprise on PJ Hill. Didn't even know we had James Robinson, don't even know who he is. Montgomery is mildy surprising, but once the Rams didn't take him in the Carriker deal it was pretty apparent he was gone.

Pretty surprised about Alridge though.
Maybe Alridge getting cut means that Torain is looking good? Or that we're only keeping 3 because of the STeams.

A general business degree is pretty mellow too though. Not taking away from what you're doing at all though; I had several friends go to Longwood for teaching.
