Re: RUMOR: Skins Want To Deal Devin Thomas
Why are my fellow redskins fans getting all uptight about this D.Thomas situation?
Seriously..why? We have a speed demon in Armstrong who's leaving DB's behind We have another WR who's faster than Devin Hester and finally gives this skins team something they haven't had since Brian Mitchell or Darrell Green left...A true return man threat! Not to mention we have a guy sitting on our practice squad who has shown me he has as much if not MORE potential than Thomas in Terrence Austin. AND...we still will have another season to see how much a bust in Malcolm Kelly we have..lol Maybe he steps up..maybe not,but i like our situation. I would be totally fine with trading D.Thomas for a player that can help us now or for a draft pick next season.

Re: RUMOR: Skins Want To Deal Devin Thomas
ace - i think people (like myself) are confused right now. The fans dont have an answer to why our 2nd round pick entering his 3rd season isnt even getting on the field as a reciever since toss-in players like roydell and galloway are getting touches.
I think we all want to know, just how bad can DT be in practice to basically be listed as an inactive. We dont know the answer and can only defer to the coaching staff's judgment on this. Is it his inconsistent hands? Is he still not preparing and studying the playbook like a pro? We all heard praise thrown DT's way this preseason about his new found work ethic He didnt look all that bad in preseason, granted it was against non-starters a good bit basically, we dont know why. i like others had hopes that he would our no 2 receiver this year, maybe catching 50+ balls with 700+ yards.

Re: RUMOR: Skins Want To Deal Devin Thomas
Total BS. You're telling me this guy isn't even good enough to get on the field all of a sudden. And for what, a seventh rounder?? What a joke!!

Re: RUMOR: Skins Want To Deal Devin Thomas
i just don't understand the digs at dt. did he not look good at the end of last year? and he hasn't been on the feild once this season. and why would you throw ability in there that is the one thing he has. granted i haven't been to the park at all this year but i'd bet my savings on dt vs galloway straight up in any agility/ability training any day of the week

Re: RUMOR: Skins Want To Deal Devin Thomas
There are quite a few of us who knew from the start of this clowns pro career exactly what Mike Shanahan figured out even before the start of camp.
Devin Thomas is not a viable NFL wide receiver. It's just the way it is. |

Re: RUMOR: Skins Want To Deal Devin Thomas
This is another case of a trade rumor that will not go down...in my opinion.
Why? Value. A year ago we could have gotten a 1st rounder for Haynesworth...now?...we'd be lucky to get a 2nd...likely a 3rd. DThomas at the end of the year could have gotten us a 3rd or so....but now...due to the fact that he cant crack the starting lineup with the weak recievers we have...we'd be lucky to get a 5th. Why is their trade value dropping? Because both have essentially been demoted. You trade your players when they are doing well, not after dogging them publicly or demoting them. The trade value DThomas now has that is a bit suprising is his kickoff return numbers. If a team needs a #2, #3 reciever AND a kickoff returner, we may be able to get a 4th... I hope the Skins dont consider anything less than that because his value on this team is at least that. Of course, if we can get VJ for Haynesworth AND Thomas, that would be a good deal...perhaps the Skins are trying to do a trade that does not have us relinquishing any draft picks.

And just think about it, we passed on DeSean Jackson, Calais Campbell, and Eddie Royal, Ray Rice and Brandon Flowers for Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly...

Re: RUMOR: Skins Want To Deal Devin Thomas
In fairness, DT and MK were the top rated WRs that year according to Kiper

Re: RUMOR: Skins Want To Deal Devin Thomas
From what I'm hearing, his head isn't in the game.
he apparently has done a video with fantasia and is all about wanting to be a TV star. If he's not putting a 100% in his practices,he's probably ticking off the coaching staff. If this info is true and he's got a lot going on outside of Football,I am totally in favor of dumping this guy for someone who wants to win a championship.
