Kolb could fit better though. He's super accurate and has some mobility, just not Vick-like mobility.
That brings up a good point though. What is Shanahan's system exactly? I was under the impression that it was based on progressions that start deep and then work their way down, along with the bootlegs, play action, and zone blocking. I think Jaws called it 3 to 1 with 3 being the deep zone and 1 being 5 yards in front of and 5 yards behind the line of scrimage.

On the other hand I was also under the impression that Reid emphasizes short dump offs before going deep as evidenced by the heavy use of Brian Westbrook during his days in Philly. It seems that only recently with the acquisition of Desean Jackson that the team has implemented more deep passes.

We need to worry about making solid draft picks 1st then signing mid level free agents to fill out the areas we need to build some depth or insert veteran starter. I dont think we should sign any big name free agents as they NEVER seem to work out for us. The only big name I would like is to bring Champ Bailey in at free safety for a couple years if he will sign for a REASONABLE price. I think he would come back to Washington and play for Shanahan again.

Kind of hard to use that strategy when FA starts in early March and the draft isn't until mid-late April.

I know it starts earlier, but id still rather wait and sign the best available veteran free agents/undrafted rookie free agents after the draft. It just seems that we have no luck signing big name free agents.

Well, just looking deep first doesn't mean that there aren't shorter routes to go to if the deep ball isn't there. It also doesn't help that we don't have an Andre Johnson to make those deep bombs more successful.

I was mainly talking about McNabb's decision-making with us. There were a good chunk of plays where he just went for it all instead of making the safe pass for the sure yards. Then there were times he made said passes but they fell in the dirt. It seems like he was dreaming of T.O. :cheeky-sm

So, here we are again. Getting geared up for a possible FA shopping spree after yet another lousy season. This has become our Super Bowl year after year. I wonder if I'll even be alive to see another decent 'Skins team take the field. Good night all, I'm going into hibernation until next July.

That's preciesely why I said you would have to trade for them.

A good FA crop gave us the mixed bag of Gibbs II. Don't worry, next season will be 2005 all over again...if there is a next season.

I think if we're gonna make a move it should be for one of Paul Posluszny, Chad Greenway or Barrett Ruud.

Is Pittsburgh really going to let Woodley walk? I doubt it.

I think he may want to test the market, especially after they didn't give him the long term deal he wanted last summer

Regardless, even though I know I said his name has been attached to the Skins. I don't believe he's coming here, similar to the Peppers situation last year

What will make free agency even more interesting this year is that it will probably come AFTER the draft. This will possibly mean teams will be less focused on filling a need in the draft and more on getting the best player available. In turn, teams will fill in the remaining team needs after the draft.
