I think the main thing to keep in mind is that QB's come from everywhere. Discounting a QB prospect because of the conference they play in is just insane.

Exactly, you really can't lose picking one of those guys. I would be tempted to pick up Dan Persa in the 3rd round also. The guy is still completing 75% of his passes like last season before his achilles blew out, but our need for CBs probably will trump us drafting 2 Qbs. Not saying Persa will start, but he would be a good backup if Shanny decides to go with 3 Qbs.

How bout taking a look at Case Keenum from Houston. Has a 69% Completion Percentage over the course of his entire college career. Not to mention that he has thrown for more TDs tonight then our team has all season up to this point.

He'll need to bulk up for the NFL at 6'4" and 195 pounds, but he has talent. He's been progressing and improving every year after looking unpolished early on.

I predict 3500 yards and 25 TDs in 2011 for him. In his sophomore season, he passed for 3300+ and 24 TDs, so it's nothing he has not done before.

Jacory Harris was benched for a time if I am not mistaken. I saw him twice at the beginning of the year. He doesn't have a solid head on his shoulders. Made very bad decisions against Ohio St and a couple other opponents. He also cost Miami the Ohio St game last year. Sorry, but if you have such a deep talent pool of QBs coming out in 2012, Harris would be on the bottom of the list. Barkely, Foles, Keenum, Moore, Luck, Jones, Tannehill, etc are all coming out. I would even want Persa from NU being my starter than Harris. Persa's TD/INT ratio is damn good, nice release, and has completed 75% of his passes a 2 year starter. He isn't starting material in the NFL, but I would pick him over Jacory Harris.

Discounting any players based on college conference play is an EPIC fail. I was listening to sports radio in the past year and they were talking this subject and they took the prowbowl roster over the last like 3, 5 years and the leading conference was the ACC. Now we know how supposidly horrible ACC football is...

Im tired of our rbs who are nothing special and its a highlight if they break a 10 yard run we need some explosiveness. Any prospects at rb or wr that could be in our reach?
I completely understand your frustration. But I think it's misplaced just a little. Our biggest problem is that our oline isn't playing good enough to allow of rbs to show their explosiveness.

Andrew Luck skills speak for itself. I understand the point that Francois was trying to make, but to assume that Luck would struggle if he played in the SEC is baseless. This guy is an amazing qb.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Prospects

So what would the thoughts be on signing Matt Flynn and then drafting someone like Justin Blackmon? I'm not saying that that's what I want us to do, I'm just saying that it's an option.

I'd be ecstatic with Barkley, Jones or RGIII to be honest, but I really think Flynn could be a good qb especially if we added Blackmon and if Hankerson could build upon what might have been his breakout game if not for his hip injury.

If we do draft a qb, my preference would be Barkley, Jones and then Griffin.

RobertGriffen III just shot to top of my Heisman list. I'd draft him HIGH. Can be a franchise QB. Delivery isn't pure; results are. Clutch!

Robert Griffen III just ripped my heart out - and my Sooners'. Just too good with arm, legs, poise, playmaking. OU missed Broyles, Whaley.

I remember hearing that conversation, it was like 6 weeks ago. And it was on a saturday evening, and the ACC was the leader in starters on the pro bowl squads and total teams.

Kinda eery.....must be that not too many good coaches in the ACC. SEC does have most of the top coaches.....
