Well as a Dallas fan I'm not sick about the Roy williams scenario. I'm sick about losing the 1st and 3rd round picks because we could had built way more. But Roy wasn't awful like haynesworth or a friking cancer to the team. HE just wasn't worth #1 WR money ever. It was a dumb costly move but it's not like he caused any disruption and we got Bryant so he didn't even stop us from getting a better player. Actually the team that takes Roy now will get a bargain because they will get a good #2 wr in most teams cheap. Jerry just couldn't justify keep paying the guy 9 mill. Haynesworth is just a piece of shit person |

Roy Williams at least got on the field and did have some production. By all accounts we wasn't a total malcontent. Dallas gave up picks and paid him a ton of dough but not 35 mil over two years. Al is #1 and Adam Arch. is 2. The most expensive punt protecter in NFL history. lol. But the Williams trade was down right awful. |

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Do I think he deserved to sit on the bench? Yup. Am I glad we didn't trade him to Philly? Yup. Bottom line, however, I'm just glad we, the fans, don't have to hear about him anymore. I'd have been happy to let him ride the bench, I'd been happy to trade him to Cinci for a ham sandwich, I'd have been happy with any outcome that means I don't have to listen to the media, the fans, or anyone else bitch about AH.
We got a pick for him when it looked like we were getting nothing. The distraction is gone. If he tears it up for NE for while, fine. Whatever. At least now we don't have to start every thread with "How will it affect Haynesworth? / Keeping Haynesworth takes up a roster spot! / Shanny an ass b/c he is keeping Haynesworth / blah, blah Haynesworth blah, blah."!! He will be motivated by his anger, for a while, then he will suck his thumb. Belichek will push his buttons for a while and get him to play at a high level, but like Randy Moss (and as Matty said) soon enough he will be sucking his thumb and pouting. When we play them, just run the other way, run a draw or two, and throw a few screens over his head - soon enough, he'll get tired of all the running around, fall down and just choose not to get up.

I hope it's a conditional pick. This team always gets the stort end of the stick with trades.

Even now I'm so tired of talking about this guy, and going by Rak's comments a couple days ago I think this will be a huge weight off the team's shoulders. Good riddance.

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Redskins DL situation is shaping up. You have Cofield (and probably Cullen Jenkins) on the way in. You have Vonnie Holliday, Adam Carriker, and Jarvis Jenkins at the ends. And Anthony Bryant and Kemoeatu at the tackles.
There might be room for either Kedric Golston or Darrion Scott at this position as well. But once Jenkins is brought in, this position looks pretty settled.

It's really important to control the line of scrimmage. Neither Jenkins or Cofield is really that kind of player, but they're both clearly starters in this league, and on this team in particular.

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
i liked mcnabb, but he became a distraction just with the way things worked out, so ditching him, AH, and rabach pretty much eliminates the top 3 targets of fan complaints.
and we got some picks from guys we weren't going to keep and some cap room - so great job! not as good as not making the mistakes in the first place, but better late than never... |

I think we're going to see a rotation of guys at the nose depending on the situation.

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Cant wait for him to start to bitch and moan about wanting a new contract in NE . . . unless they restructure his contract (probably be incentive heavy).
