I know I over did it with saying Rex over John last night, but I still say you go with the guy with the more starts until he proves he isn't the man to do it. I liked what Shanny did with alternating the two, but he should have had Beck go out first. He needed more time with the first team Raven D to get a real honest look at him. Beck better start in the last game regardless. If he does a lot b etter than he did as he started out with the Ravens, I will think about changing my mind about him. Right now I am still on default, and that is go with the guy that actually had a long term experience as a starter.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Ravens)

I think Beck had a good game last night. He made one bad throw, and that happens in football. Grossman made some good throws too, but the one to that he threw between the Linebacker and Safety was electric, but it could of been a disaster as well.

The throw for the touchdown was basically a loft into the endzone that almost gave the CB time to recover and knock it down. I could of made that throw lol.

The both are looking solid, but I expected Grossman to play good int he offense in the preseason, but he's a ticking time bomb in my opinion and nobody knows how many years he has left, were Beck is 30, but his body is 25 in the NFL. He hasn't taken a lot of hits and he moves really well.

One thing we can ALL be proud of is we were 2-2 in the redzone last night

has there been a source yet to confirm that Jarvis will be put on IR and miss the season, or will we keep him on the active roster and see if he can play towards the end of the season?

He's out 6-8 months, his season is over.

Nah, no way he comes back before the end of the regular season, let alone March. Athletes face a long and hard road when it comes to rehabbing torn ligaments, he's done for the year, easily. We should just hope he'll be fine by the start of training camp next year, which he probably will be.

Honestly I must have missed it. What exactly did Hall do? It couldn't have been much considering it didn't seem like the announce team even mentioned it much if at all.

I didn't even notice it until Gtripp mentioned it, but it sounds like Hall lined up on the wrong side of scrimmage to delay the extra point so we'd have time to throw the challenge flag to challenge the touchdown. Of course he wouldn't have known that if he had known that all scoring plays get reviewed in the replay booth.

The reason why I say this/ask is because Osi Umenyiora tore his ACL a few years ago in a preason game, and he said that his ACL was 100%, and could have played by the end of november for the team. Obviously Jarvis isn't as athletic or light as Osi but I mean different peoples ACL's respond differently than others.

D.Hall is a gambling CB. He will make some big plays and on occasion he will get beat. Its the nature of the NFL. I know if Hall gets the ball in his hands he has a chance to score.

When your defense can score, its HUGE. Hall getting picks is great, but being able to return those kicks is an added ability. Game changer

You know what else is a game-changer? giving up TDs to the opposing offense because you're more busy looking to score on defense than play good defense. I would much rather DHall focus more on coverage and less on TDs. Asomugha, Revis, Sharper, etc. are great CBs because they take the opposing WR out of the game, not because they score touchdowns.

Keim's analysis is always really good -- got to clean up those penalties and the point about Gruden also raving about Beck is an interesting turn of events.
