We have already seen that talk is cheap many times from younger players who say the same stuff about wanting to win, etc. I rather them just shut up and play a solid game and win. Anybody can say I want to win with a serious looking face, and be very nonchalant about it in his actions. It is called acting for the camera, ala reality TV. Not trying to question Brian's sincerity per say, but talk is cheap. Walk the walk before you talk the talk is my point.

How many young guys like Lavar or Smoot would come in and get all pissed about losing, but then put up a subpar performance the next weekend or the weekend after the next game. Every player should want to win and get pissed about losing. Quit the bitching and go out a nd perform and WIN!

No way we see Beck before week 5, even if Rex shits the bed the next two weeks. Thank God some of us aren't coaching the Skins.

What you wrote sounds reasonable but I wouldn't bet that Mike Shanahan would let Rex play poorly for two whole games without pulling him. I think that MS would pull Rex the minute he started to believe that Rex was the problem with the offense.

I'd like to stress that I don't think that Rex or anyone on the offense or the defense or special teams has been a glaring weakness at this point in the season. I just believe that MS would pull any player the minute he thought that player was hurting the team.

If Baltimore has it in them, than we have it in us. Baltimore is not stronger at any level of their offense (save maybe Flacco and Rice in the backfield) than we are.

The Rams defense has been super disappointing. I say disappointing instead of bad because sometimes an offense like the Redskins will roll into town and they'll (Rams defense) go back to looking like the team they expected to be at the beginning of the season.

So we have to be super-careful not to shoot ourselves in the foot this week. Baltimore went about 3.5 quarters without a major offensive blown assignment. We'll have to do something similar this week.

This game is a 50-50 coin flip. The Rams are talented enough to blow us out, but if they aren't able to fix their weaknesses from last week, we'll be able to blow them out.

It's true. This team does not have an obvious weakness. Quarterback, maybe? Hall is an obvious weakness when he's man to man on the opponents best receiver w/o safety help, but that's a schematic choice, not a personnel flaw.

Being competent also requires some star power we may not have just yet, ergo, the Redskins might be a year away from achieving competency, but the roster seems balanced enough to sustain itself this year.

Idk if the rams are talented enough to blow themselves out much less the redskins.. They have no talent at all on offense except 8 and 39

I don't think we lose to the Rams, but my oh my we have to play Buffalo, and a month ago I had them a sure W, now with Jackson and Johnson being studs, we might have our hands full. I think we need to look at the AZ game again and reevaluate how good this team is. I don't consider AZ to be all that great.

Kendricks is pretty solid, but yes, this is not much of an offense.

Even bad offenses can exploit weaknesses though.

Re: Skins v Rams pregame

All KS needs to do if Rex is having an off night is go with the dink and dunk short passes, go to slants, screens and hooks, with using Armstrong to take a couple Dbs out with him. We do need to pound the ball more with Helu definitely in the mix. We have more of a dual back system now. Maybe put both TH and Helu out for short passing routes also at times. I can't think that KS and co haven't thought of a backup gameplan if Rex has a bad night.

You're correct, but that doesn't mean the chances are better than 50-50. Vegas has the game as a pick-em.

I'm just saying that if we lose, people will line up to crab about some intangible the team is lacking, but really, this is a road game that we're going to win only about half the time. 3-1 at the bye feels a heck of a lot different than 2-2, so I'm not saying it doesn't matter. I'm just saying we're only kind of good, and kind of good teams don't go on the road and make it look easy except when they play the very worst teams.

The Rams are pretty bad, but they're not one of the five worst teams in football. And they will certainly compete with us at home unless they make all the same mistakes they did last week. In which case, they should fire their coaches.
