Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
Good:
1. RG3 - Absolute stud, still learning though. Made some rookie mistakes, to be expected. 2. Rob Jackson - The INT & the sack were huge plays, has stepped up in Raks absence. 3. Almo 4. Moss (minus the fumble) 5. Run blocking - Nice holes, making it easy for Morris to cut and go. Bad: 1. TURNOVERS 2. Madieu Williams - He's oblivious. 3. Josh Wilson - looks like he lost a step this year. 4. Pass blocking was spotty 5. A couple bad play calls on O. (second consecutive FB dive, option play with Niles) 6. Turnovers 7. Turnovers 100. Turnovers Side notes: 1. Injury bug... we can't catch a break. 2. Some really ticky-tac, POS penalties called on us today 3. Kerrigan was non existent today. Possibly due to the boat loads of missed holding calls?

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
Lots to knock, starting with the first FG instead of running Morris. BUT, we were in it even given:
6 turnovers (extremely uncharacteristic) Loss of our starting TE Loss of Gomes (not a big deal) Loss of Fletcher at the end Ultimately, we had every opportunity to win, and our D came up with a few stops, thanks to TO's mostly which they continue to get. If anyone isn't excited by this team's future they are crazy. Not that there's anything wrong with that |

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
Well, Win or Loss today, I already thought we had lost, because losing Fred Davis is crucial for our offense. Sure Paulsen looked good, and Paul has speed, but neither is FD. Get ready for us to sign Cooley.
The turnovers were crucial as well. I said to one of my buddies that I just saw us blowing this game by fumbling it...hate it when I'm negatively right. Robert played like a rookie a few times today, but overall he's still a top 10 QB. From the start of the season I said our secondary sucks. So I feel like this isn't a surprise to anyone here that we would blow games or allow huge plays or both this season with that POS secondary we have. This offseason we better be looking at secondary guys in FA and Drafting CBs and S's in that draft all around. I LOVED that our team was so competitive though with the "Best team in the NFC" at their place. Imagine how this game will be later in the season when we play these guys again AT our place. I think even though our OL allowed 3 sacks, we still are ok there at that position. Sure Polumbus is the worst on that line, but he's still better than a lot of other teams RTs. The penalty in the opening drive on FD not resetting killed us, but all in all, we still had a chance later in the game (2 chances actually) and blew it. Oh well, on to the Steelers. A team that has problems all over their defense; but also has fast WRs that can and will beat you deep...

The secondary should be charged with crimes against humanity.

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
anyway - ill let the Redskins decide what to do about Haslett. I know what I would do.
We played on the road against the Giants and out played them. We shot ourselves in the foot - if we get BW back and Garcon we are going to be dangerous. Even if we dont - I will say again that we are going to win this division. So this is not be wanting to blow anything up - Im actually encouraged by what I saw today. I just think Haslett brings nothing to the table - at all. |

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
Skins future is so bright , this one burns folks but we aren't a playoff team anyway. The D is too bad to be that kind of a team. I'm still saying 8-8

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
On that last TD for Cruz, Judging by the way that Wilson was playing, he was expecting Williams over the top. Thats why he lets Cruz past him and undercuts him. It was a Hi-Lo double coverage that Williams went to sleep on.
I used to help coach on the youth level a while back and one thing I always told boys was "Nobody is a hero, Everybody is a team mate". Williams went for the hero play expecting Cruz to go short. He wanted to jump the route and be the hero. That Cruz TD is all on Williams. He cared about his stats over the team win. And thats exactly what happens when someone wants to be the hero. |

The safety's in that situation should have never been that close to the line of scrimmage. They should have been at least another 5 to 10 yards further back and they should not have committed that early in the play. Williams from the snap decided he was going to help the outside CB. Bad coaching. Bad play calling. Bad job by the players involved. |
