F Dukes and Irvin for even questioning RG3's commitment given what he went through with the injury and quick recovery. Just pure insanity.
What did Griffin say?

Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice

Jamie Dukes basically questioned RG3's commitment. He seems to be using the spin that this is RG3's decision to not play when it seems to be obvious it's a decision that everyone is on board with.

Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice

RG3 hates the preseason and is sending the wrong message to his team according to Dukes.

Did we not spend the entire offseason listening to these talking heads blast the team for playing RG3 when he was hurt, not caring about the player, etc.? Now the team is taking it's time with their star player and trying to take the safer route and it's F them for trying to be smart.

Dukes is the Skip Bayless of NFL Network.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice

I wouldn't mind if RG3 played a quarter this preseason just to get his feet wet, but the game speed is totally different so if he doesn't play at all I won't mind.

As far as Dukes/Irvin go, I think they're achieving exactly what they want out of their statements, which is more people discussing their thoughts. Just like any other decision made by any other coach, some people are going to like it, and some people are going to hate it, at least publicly to earn a little more attention. Which leads me to a curious question I have:

SS, in your opinion, have you met any media members who have taken a different stance publicly for more attention, but actually side with a more reasonable take in private? I'm sure it could be possible, but it'd be hard to prove, because if they had an outlandish take on a story they'd stick with that viewpoint throughout so they wouldn't appear phony.

The skins should do the Denver-Manning route with RG3 this preseason

That just seems pointless to me, if they are going to do that, then just rest him and don't play him until the after the bye week. Just seems dumb to say its just the eagles week one so we are going to just rest RG3.

U never can say any game is a for sure win, to say we don't need our best player against Philadelphia is definitely not right. How do u know the eagles won't be any better? We need Griffin 16 times this season. I'm a huge cousins fan too but he's No RG3.

I agree, pointless.

Won't happen.

He didn't bust his ass to sit out against the Eagles. Silly notion.

So what happens if he gets off to a bad start?

Re: RGIII has been cleared for practice

Tom Brady played in the pre season after he tore up his knee, and he was far more accomplished than RG3. Get him out there, let him get some game speed reps, knock some rust off and get him out.

Brady also tore his ACL in the very first game of the season, giving him an extra 4 months of rehab before the next preseason. Imo, its good that he is getting the extra month to let the knee get stronger. No reason to risk some second or third stringer from another team trying to make a name for himself do something stupid like diving into his knee to make a tackle.

That's true and a good point.
