Re: 2014 draft prospects Early edition
Yes I'm serious. There are some big named in FA at tackle and center and we should get a proven, solid player to plug in across from Trent, not a questionable rookie unless he's a sure thing. They're usually gone in Round 1, the real stud tackles. We shouldn't pull a Jerry Jones and draft a Center with our first pick of the draft, unless he's Alex Mack caliber. I'd rather take this influx of salary cap money and buy the REAL Alex Mack.
I like Richardson if available, he'd be a good value as one of the top guards in the draft. Pick #34 should be BPA that fills a need. Since we're not moving to 4-3 and shifting 'Rap and Kerrigan back to DE, a 3-4 DE is a need. I like Tiutt there. He's a beast. You also can't deny the secondary is a huge need. If we can upgrade Wilson, we should. All of the positions I listed are areas of need. I really think the O-line needs patched with some FAs that don't have a ton of miles on them and are already proven.

Any chance we get a shot at drafting Taylor Lewan?

Kiper has manziel going 1 which is not unlikely, I'd take him if I'm Houston.

I'd take Teddy B if I were Houston but that's just me.

They really like Clowney. Not sure if they'd take him with the #1 overall, but I know they're looking to trade down.

Re: 2014 draft prospects Early edition
I'd take Bridgewater but bringing in the hyped-up Texas kid would probably fill more seats in Houston. Remember, it IS a business.

Hard hitter and might be a good pick but he has some character issues to watch for. Also supposedly struggles to cover tight ends in passing plays.

On that note, I wonder why Skov's stock has been falling recently. I thought he was a high 2nd round pick, but I've noticed lately he's been projected more in the 3rd or even 4th. I hope he's available in the 3rd; if we could get Antonio Richardson or Cyril Richardson in the 2nd, and Skov in the 3rd, that'd be two new starters right there. |

I like the idea of Shaq Richardson in later rounds. Checkout the vid he put up on youtube.

Re: 2014 draft prospects Early edition
If Stephen Morris goes undrafted, I'd love to sign him as an UDFA. He can make some amazing throws, and perhaps Gruden could help him be more consistent. If Morris could develop into a competent NFL QB, I'd rather him back up RG3 than Cousins, due to them having similar skill sets.

Redskins Mock Draft: 2014 (1st Edition) - HTTR4LIFE.com - HTTR4LIFE.com
IMO not a bad draft, maybe I'm wearing rose glasses but I believe Tom Compton will step up and take the RT spot and Chase Minnifield will step up and CB 2nd year after knee surgery should be fully recovered. |

Re: 2014 draft prospects Early edition
Manziel is just too risky to take number one. I keep the guys they have at QB and take Clowney.

Re: 2014 draft prospects Early edition
I've heard a few times now that the Skins might be looking to trade back into the 1st Round. link
But I haven't heard who those coveted targets are that they think could be taken in the 30-32 range. Have any of you heard? I do like the thought process that if you feel strongly about a prospect to lock them into the 5 year first round rookie contract as opposed to the 4 year rookie contract. |
