Re: All things offseason discussion part II
I know Jon Gruden was a big Flowers fan. He raved about him for an entire monday game I watched. Wonder if he will talk to his brother

I would welcome Flowers and he could certainly make our team immediately more competitive -- on paper. It's all talk right now in the offseason, but IF the offense lives up to the hype, IF our D-line is better, and IF our safeties are decent / not too old ---> another pro bowl corner could be what could have us keep up with the top teams late in the season. But, I worry about Andy Reid, whenever we take his scraps. He's been shown to have a good eye for aged veterans and screwed us several times in the past. |

Fake Al Davis @VeryFakeAlDavis Gruden has all the answers, until you ask him to play F/M/K with Josh Johnson, John Beck and Rich Gannon 10:39 PM - 25 Aug 2011 For our less hip posters FMK stands for *$##, Mary, Kill. From another forum (2010) Jon Gruden is obnoxious - Page 2 Quote:

John Madden was no different. He did the exact same thing that Jon does.

Announcer wise he really is top notched. For me when he's breaking down actual football plays and concepts he brings everything you get with someone like Jaworski but with a lot more enthusiasm. And to be fair he's nowhere near as 'kind' as he was when he first got in the booth. Heck just as recently as the draft he seemed more then willing to strongly disagree with picks. Ray Lewis on the other hand....lol.....very good football breakdowns, way to many good things to say about everyone.

Re: All things offseason discussion part II
that first round draft coverage was the worst thing ever. ray and boom didn't do their homework and spent the entire night quipping generic platitudes. it was painful/horrible.
however, the next day they decided to go with people who actually had at least half a clue as to what they were talking about. i don't know why they didn't start with them, they were soooo much better. |

Re: All things offseason discussion part II
Meh I'd go with Bud Grant or Georgea Allen on that one. Chuck Noll was the DC for Shula on the Dolphin team that got beat by the Namath/ Jets. I didn't know that.

Re: All things offseason discussion part II
Noll beat Grant in the one game they played against each other that really mattered. Grant and Allen never won a SB while Noll turned around a team that was a total joke into a 4x SB winner.
