Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...

I watched the Redskins vs Vikings and after a few days of thinking about why we lost, I formed the opinion their was several factors that cost us the game.
1. The offense did not make enough plays in the 1st half to put the Vikings away early when they were struggling on offense.
2. I have to say the play calling has to be questioned a few times during the game. We had a 3rd and 1 and we run a toss play to the left with Roy Helu that lossed yards. This was a critical time in the game that if we convert the 3rd down we go ahead and add to our 10 point lead. Instead we have to punt. The 2 point conversion try SMH on that call when it was not needed at that time. You don't go for 2 points unless you have to tie or take the lead. Didn't like the coaches decision .
3. The defense played well in the 1st half until the RG3 int which resulted in a TD before halftime. The defense lost momentum and did not make any adjustments the rest of the game. The d-line had chances to sack Teddy but could not get him down with a 4 man rush. The defense had a chance to win the game if they could have stopped the Vikings when we took the lead.

The way I see it, if the whole damn defense can't figure out their assignments, then there is indeed one coach to blame and that coach is the DC. If the defense continues to look clueless and the DC is not replaced, then there will be another coach to blame, the HC.
OK, serious question here (not defending Has)....

The majority of the issue I saw in the Vikes game was with the secondary. Does Raheem get any of the blame?

Well seeing as there was no pressure what so ever and our secondary is widely known as the weakness of the defense, I would say it is a fair assessment to want to smash Haz in the head with a steel chair wwe style while Jim Ross screams about how he has a family.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Rumor has it that Brittany....what's her name is reporting that Bruce and Dan actually alternated defensive play calling

The only thing that matter the rest of the season is RG3. Enough is enough. Is he the guy or isn't he? Too much has been invested in him to still have such doubt at this point

Well I'm in RG's camp. I don't know what the hell people are expecting?! He's the best QB on the roster right now and definitely has the higher ceiling.

This is the time a coach would speak up to defend the franchise QB, talk about adding more talent to the offensive line to protect RG. Put those guys on notice first. Grudens not doing that?

Not if you want to secure a higher spot in the draft.

If he isnt, what do you think the play will be?

I dont think Bradford is back, Id bring him for a look depending on how that injury has healed. Not that I would be all in but Id sit him down and say you and RG3 are in a QB competition. Id give Colt that option as well ( I def dont think Colt is the future here). Id think Id stray away from the drafting a QB. We got more things to worry about especially if we are going to convert to a 4-3 defense.

I couldn't agree more. The Skins didn't give up everything they did for RG3 for him to still be the huge question mark that he is.

The thing that really bothered me about Sunday is that RG3 didn't really seem any better that Teddy Bridgewater. I know RG has his injury issues and lack of playing time but his accuracy and footwork are not very good and his pocket presence is as bad as Jason Campbell. I think the rest of the season has to be used to see if RG can improve these flaws and move forward.

I think with the pocket stuff, you either have it or you don't. You can just tell that Bridgewater is a natural at it and it comes easy for him to stand in there. He had pressure a few times and avoided it by climbing and using footwork. I rarely see Griffin do this. IMO that's why he's sacked so much. It's just something he's never going to be great at. But I still thought he did more good than bad, a lot of positives from a long lay off.

What do you think he needs to do to:

1. Be here next season.

2. Keep the starting position at the beginning of next season.

3. Win Gruden over as his franchise QB.

Good point, although the Vikes' o-line is far superior to ours IMO.

The rest, I don't know

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...

The only big question to me is his health. He needs to stay in the lineup in order to keep improving.
