Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
Isn’t there some weird thing where no QB 6’6” or taller has ever had any success in the NFL?

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
There was Brock Osweiler in Denver....he is 6'8 and played outstanding for the Broncos...but he signed that free agent contract with the Houston Texans and the success he had in Denver didn't translate well in Houston...probably because of he wasn't suited for the offensive system in Houston.....

Were on earth do you get this notion that Brock played outstanding in Denver? I suggest you look at his film and the stats. I still have no idea how he managed to trick the Texans into signing that contract. I know the Texans were desperate for a QB at the time to pair with that defense, but it was far from obvious that he was not the answer.

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
Ive heard from beat Redskins reporters....6-8 month is absolutely best case scenario...8-12 most likely.
People need to remember their is a psychological aspect to the injury...so physically he may be able to perform. The team absolutely needs to bring in young QB this draft. And this is a job audition for McCoy going forward. Flacco, Tannahill, Tyrod Taylor....let the evaluation begin for a possible add. |

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
If we sign Flacco, I'll cry.
I don't want any retread. Draft a guy in the top few rounds and hope Colt/Alex can get you thru 2019 and playing rookie isn't necessary. At least 1st part of the season.

^^ I just assumed he was trolling with that "Brock Osweiler was great in Denver" line. If not, ...

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
Colt just had a bad game with 3 Int. He may win us a few games but he's not the answer except as a career backup.
AS will have to come back, if able, but his cap hit is so huge it means we can't attract a veteran QB of caliber, even if there was one available. Alex was not doing very well before the injury and he'll be 35 next year after major leg surgery. He's not the answer either. We need to draft for the future QB of this franchise. We need to bite the bullet and draft for a QB that can take us to the top. We may need to trade down to get the best QB of the draft.

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
We need help at every position besides DL. I'd move on from Norman, Brown, and Foster. Dix hasn't done enough yet to earn a big contract. I'd think about moving on from Reed and/or Davis too. Probably need to keep 1 of them.
Right now, I'd try to re-sign Preston. Anderson is playing better too. If Smith is too expensive, that's another position we'll need to fill. Needs: CB x 2 S ILB × 2 OLB (unless Smith is resigned) WR x 2 G and/or C x 2 TE QB This would also include FA. Fire Bruce Allen. Probably time to move on from Gruden too, especially if there is a plan to draft QB. Good luck front office.

Forgot to include, I'd extend Swearinger. Him and Allen would be good defensive leaders.

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
Ok and out of those 11 or 12 that you want, how many do you think they'll hit on? Fact is 1/2 of 1st rounders turn out to be busts. Same w/ free agency and trades.. look at our own free agents? Most have been subpar signings.
