Packers Pregame Thread (Hopkins cut)

Lol. Yup. Also the Lions and maybe one other game that we weren’t in. But Id say 13 outta 16 counts. These days we get beat down regularly. At least that team was competitive…. Was Haynesworth suspended for that season? Anyway fuck Haynesworth that team lost at least 6 games by a few points. |

To me it's a small price to pay for a good breakdown every week of why we're losing.

Youre right. He gave us so much free stuff over the years, learning how the sausage is made for this shit team is probably not a wise choice but I signed up for one month at $5.

Re: Packers Pregame Thread (Hopkins cut)
Blewitt has a 69% fg % in 4 years of college, went 10-17 his senior year.
Couldnt find how many touch backs he had but im preparing mentally for short kickoffs and a missed FG or extra point. |

Re: Packers Pregame Thread (Hopkins cut)
while it was time for a change, I wish Hopkins had resigned rather than being cut. He was an important part of our team for 6 or 7 years. I wish him well and thank him for his contributions to our team.
I can hope but can see no way WFT can win against the Packers except for a miracle. |

Some Q and A from pregame presser.
https://www.hogshaven.com/2021/10/22...ng-to-ir-again My favorite is DB coach Chris Harris. Jackson is still getting used to the way Washington teaches things. To me that is a problem. |

Hopefully he's been brushing up on his skills since he was last in school in 2016.

Re: Packers Pregame Thread (Hopkins cut)
Exactly. Reminds me when the drafted Orakpo and forced him to be a stand up LB.

Re: Packers Pregame Thread (Hopkins cut)
Jackson said a few teams were interested in him during the free agency and he decided to go with WFT because of the defense coaches.. This might be something both parties believed the transition would be smooth but it ended up being not smooth.
WFT was Norman's first visit and we didn't let him go without a contract. Despite the difference, the results are similar. |

Re: Packers Pregame Thread (Hopkins cut)
After six games, GB is probably who we think they are. A pretty good (but beatable) 5-1 team.
That loss to the Saints was probably more of an anomaly than anything. The Lions had the lead at halftime, then shit the bed in the 2nd half with two turnovers, and two failed 4th down conversions. The 49ers had the lead with 37 seconds left, then shit the bed allowing the Packers to go 42 yards in 34 seconds to hit the game-winning 51 yard FG. They seemingly handled the Steelers without much trouble. They won in OT against the Bengals - both teams inexplicably missing FGs in OT, before GB hit the game-winning 49 yarder. They beat da Bears without much trouble, although their defense did give up two 80 yard TD drives to Justin Fields. Could be 4-2 or 3-3. Coulda, woulda, shoulda - their record is 5-1. ------------------ After six games, I am of the opinion that the WFT is not who we think they are. I won't recap all of their games, my guess is that most on here have seen them. It's looked mostly bad with a bright spot sprinkled in here and there. They could easily be 0-6 right? But if you say that, then you also have to acknowledge that they could easily be 4-2. 4-point loss to the Chargers, and basically beat the Saints in almost every category except the one that counts - the scoreboard. Again, coulda, woulda, shoulda - their record is 2-4. Anyway, I have forgotten all about the first six games because I like WFT to win this one on the road. Overall, compared to my expectations starting the season, the offense has been a pleasant surprise; although not very impressive of late. This week I am expecting a big game from Heinicke - no turnovers, making plays on the run, and being aggressive. I am expecting a successful running game with McKissic/Gibson/Patterson - 175+ yards rushing combined. Lastly, McLaurin/Humphries are going to make enough big plays to keep the scoreboard on our side. I'm looking at 400+ total yards of offense this week. The defense has been a huge disappointment to say the least. It was supposed to be the reason they would compete this year, but instead it's the reason they have lost four games so far. That being said, I don't expect it to continue. I see them getting it together this week against a beat up O-line. Chase has had two sacks in the last two games, the interior has been solid all year, and the secondary just cannot continue to look as bad as they have in the early going. I think they get to Rodgers early and often, and he has a game like he did in week 1. + 3 turnover ratio ought to do it. ------------------ GB has to turn around and play the undefeated Cardinals four days after this contest. No way they aren't looking forward at that matchup. Every once in a while, what everybody knows should happen, doesn't. This is that game this week. Footnote: If they pull it off, I'm calling it the start of a six game winning streak. Gotta go - need another shot of tequila. |
