A great 3rd down back who can't run between the tackles And Jarrett Patterson who is ok I guess. Our short yardage game last year fell off with Barber gone which is why I assume they drafted Robinson

Gibson had more fumbles than 20+ yard plays. He just doesn’t make plays. McKissic is solid. Patterson who? |

And while I’m at it, can you Dyami Brown fans jump off a cliff?
He won’t break 300 yards this season. I don’t get why he is always getting mentioned as a weapon. |

Personally still holding out hope that he improves this upcoming years and has more opportunities with a new qb as well.

Re: The 2022 Washington Commanders draft thread
Ok so for the first 3 picks:
Was I surprised that Dotson was the pick? Yeah, I would have preferred Olave or Hamilton but a running mate for Terry was needed, badly. Great hands and route running. Seen him compared to DeSean and Santana Moss, don't think he is as fast as DeSean though. 2. Mathis, this pick I'm not a fan of, as I would have taken Brisker at that pick. I know we lost Settle and Matty I. I don't dislike the position I just think he could have been had in round 3 or 4 honestly, but better a round too early than 1 pick too late. 3. Robinson, we need a short yardage back, like I said before Gibson has a fumbling issue and McKissik can't run between the tackles, they're good at what they do, but Robinson should give us what Peyton Barber did when he was here. I expect us to address S, LB, and CB now, and don't forget Mathieu is still out there, not that I think we sign him but I am holding out hope

Re: The 2022 Washington Commanders draft thread
Concerned about the middle of our D -- MLB and S are areas of real need. I rather view the picks we've made so far as nice to haves more than anything else. Sure, a great WR will help, but I would be interested to see if a healthy Curtis Samuel and 2nd year Dyami Brown is enough to supplement McLaurin when combined with a QB that can push the ball down the field -- which we simply didn't have last year. Sure, a good between the tackles RB is nice to have, although we have Gibson, JDM, and Patterson (who the coaches said could be a good short yardage back). And sure, after losing Matty I and Settle, getting another rotation piece on the DL is helpful.
But I don't see these needs as being as acute as the need for FS and MLB help where our current options are clearly holding us back. Now maybe this draft reflects a mentality of the BPA and not focusing on need. But I don't think so -- as much as I am interested to see Dotson's potential, do folks really think he was the BPA at 14 (the pick we had) or 16 (the pick we made)? This draft feels a little aimless to me. Obviously, until guys suit up and start playing, no one really knows whether we've done well or not. But unless the folks we've drafted so far are lights out in their respective positions, I will wonder whether trying to hit on FS and MLB would have done more to help us contend than what we've done.

Jamin Davis was the choice last year…a guy who pulled off the field late last year, losing snaps to David Mayo.

Re: The 2022 Washington Commanders draft thread
Really like the RB pick at the end. Robinson is a thumper!
I don’t understand how we aren’t trading down with the Mathis pick. That might have been the worst pick of the second round. Massive reach.

Re: The 2022 Washington Commanders draft thread
I'm scratching my head on the 2nd round pick. Maybe he was higher on their boards than what anyone thought. I would have liked s or mlb like others have said. We addressed receiver with not doctson, and qb with wentz.. other biggest needs are s and mlb. So I don't totally get why we don't bolster those positions.
I like the rb pick. A lot. It's something I was hoping to see. I don't think Gibson is the dude. The fumbles, likely, won't stop. I like him, but it's a huge liability. And while there's never a good time to turn it over, he seemingly does it at the absolute worst times. So I'm happy to get another rb, and his possible replacement. I know they are saying short yardage back, but I think he will be more if it pans out. That 2nd rounder though. What the hell

Re: The 2022 Washington Commanders draft thread
Jaymin Davis will be better this year , he’s got to be. The issue is , we needed Secondary help and OL help (depth) You take a RB after you just resigned JDM… that’s odd to me. Maybe they view Robinson as a better overall runner than AG.

Re: The 2022 Washington Commanders draft thread
AG has 2 years left on his rookie deal, maybe looking for a new contract next year, to some degree I think they are planning ahead. Same with Mathis re Payne, but I think they kind of screwed up the Payne issue.

Maybe it’s also a wake up call to AG, the fumbles are a huge issue. He also doesn’t see the holes as quickly but again he was a WR… hell switch him back to WR? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
