Euthanasia booths in England? It can't happen here. Here's how the typical liberal asshole thinks.

Re: Obama Care

Plenty of infighting amongst the Dems now. Looks like Franken spit some venom at Axlerod and the administration. Good for him:

It's interesting that when Obama goes into talk to the Dems it's a closed door session, but when he came to Baltimore and spoke to the Republicans he was carried on all the national media. This is more a perception, it may be two entirely different types of meetings, but it strikes me as very "chicago-esque" style of politics.

as to the actual article, I imagine our own Saden feels the same way, that Obama has not been clear enough, or provided the appropriate leadership to push this bill through.

We will see how the far left deals with having to soften it's agenda, or if they now go after it full tilt. My guess is the liberal Dems will get pretty nasty toward anyone not going with what they want to do, regardless of party affiliation.

Re: Obama Care

does this change anyone's opinion?
Blue Cross has just announced that it's immediately raising premiums charged to hundreds of thousands of individual customers by as much as 39%—even though their parent company's profits soared to a record $4.7 billion last year.

Even worse, the insurer has so far refused to explain why they're increasing their rates, and warned that they might do so again this year without warning.

Re: Obama Care

Well the bribe's are getting bigger and the time is running out. Hey, the good news is they guess this will only cost us around 900 billion but that just a big guess. Its actuall very funny to hear these dumb ass comgress men brag that its only going to cost billion. Probably more like 1.8 trillion but why get all mixed up in the numbers. I also heard that small business will take a big hit with this new bill. Thats a good idea when you have a bad economy.

Yeah I dropped them. You know there is no reason that the government can't bust Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield up like MaBell.

Come to think of it, most of these interlocking corporate entities can and should be broken up. Number one on my list is GoldMan Sachs.

Once upon a time a corporation's charter was subject to review. If it didn't serve the community, it was revoked.

Last year the average health Ins. co. had a 3.3 profit and some of the highest profits where 4.5 %. Its not like they are making money hand over fist and see where they rank among other businesses.

Their profit is not my concern. They can make as much money as they like. Their influence is what troubles me.

Re: Obama Care

my girl is one of the 32 million without health insurance.

shes 30, works 2 jobs, has high blood pressure and is anemic.

last year she fell and busted her eye/head open. with no insurance, we couldnt take her to the hospital. i watched her carefully for a few days. 3 days after the fall, she fainted, fell, was psitting up blood. i rushed her to the hospital. the doctors wanted to do all types of tests since there was a traumatic head injury. (that actor's wife just died from a minor head injury skiing). we told them our situation and had to decline anything but the most necessary treatments. she gets released from the hospital in a few hours. we get a 10k bill.

the past year she has been having sudden episodes where her heartbeat increases to a fevered pitch, you can feel her heart pounding against her chest cavity. she gets very weak, has trouble breathing, fights to stay conscious. since she doesnt have health insurance, all i can do is hold her while she is lumped on the ground for the half hour or so the attacks take. it is frightening as hell to have your loved one potentially dying in your arms and you cant do anything aobut it b/c we cant afford $200 + a month for health insurance for her.

she eventually did get health insurance a few months ago but all she could afford is a health plan that doesnt pay a cent until she has paid over $10,000 for medical services per year. which, of course doesnt help.

to you all with health insurance, living a nice life, think aobut some of us who work hard, pay our own way thru life but still cant afford the out of control costs of health care.

reading that blue cross has increased their charges without explanation pisses me off. this is a game they are playing, trying to maintain their stanglehold on the price of health.

this bill isnt about you guys and girls who have health insurance. its about the 30 year old girl working 2 jobs, getting no govt assistance, who cant afford health care b/c health insurance companies got it nice and cozy right now and they dont want that to change.

There are other ways to go about that than forcing me to pay for your girl's doctor bills.

Wow, very sorry to read of your girl’s condition. My wife and I have been out of work way too long and we often fear situations similar to yours. Very anxious times here in our home with two kids to care for also. Yet, Trample The Elderly’s comments reflect the true paradox of this whole health care bill: Is it fair to everyone else to carry the financial burden of the uninsured? There must be another way, but I'll probably be taking a dirt nap when it's discovered.

Re: Obama Care

TTE, if your house were burning down, my money would help to pay for the fire department to save your stuff.

If you were robbed, my money would pay for law enforcement so that you can get justice.

But I'm gonna draw the line regarding my money when it comes to your living a healthy life?
